Questions & Answers

To use it for my 12 G SAS3 storage, I would like to use Jbod. It is listed as 6g in the description, however. SAS3 is supposed to be 12 G, don't you think?

You can ask a question about the SFF by clicking here A Mini SAS SFF with 8644 There are two 808 cable ends, one with a 12 GB terminal, the other with a 6 GB Connecting my 6GB JBOD cabinet to my 12GB RAID controller is what I'm doing with it. The SFF - it is my understanding Only 6GB of memory is available on the 8088 terminal. In order to transfer data from 12GB to 12GB, you will need the cable with 2-pin connectors The SFF - A total of 8644 terminals were installed.

It is very finicky and * (Updated / Modified There are no problems at the moment)
5/5

A REVIEW OF THE STATE OF THE WORLD I decided to reach out to the manufacturer for clarity and additional testing, and the manufacturer determined that I had received a version of the cable older than expected. As a result, I got a new set of cables at no cost. After testing with the new cables, which involved lots of cables moving and adjusting while the RAID arrays were being built and running, there were no dropped drives or problems with reliability. There were no problems at all. As a bonus, I must also comment that it was a real pleasure to work with the suppliers, who were very professional and friendly throughout the transaction. Therefore I have changed my review from a 2 star to a 5 star. It would be great to do business with 10Gtek again in the future, and I would This is how the post from February 4, 2020 looks like

Previous post Please note (***NOTE There are a number of things wrong with this outdated report, which does not reflect both the current viewpoint and all the information. The information is only retained for historical reasons. 2) I have two LSI MetaRAID 9361-based systems In order to connect those expander cards to an external chassis, I have two sets of cables (four cables altogether) to connect the Intel 8i cards in a VMware host to the Intel 36x expander cards. After buying these cables from you, I went to another manufacturer and purchased a set that was twice as expensive. As soon as I spotted these cables by 10Gtek and saw that they were considerably cheaper and had high user ratings, I was convinced these would be a great purchase for the second expander card. Both sets of cables have now been in use for several We've seen multiple instances of these cables dropping connections, causing arrays to have to be rebuilt multiple times. Fortunately we haven't lost any data. Find our conclusion here. These cheaper cables become unreliable almost instantly every time they are bumped or moved a few inches in the middle portion of the cable (without touching the connection points) as they usually lose disks in the array, causing a degradation of the array and greater chances of data loss. By contrast, the more expensive cables from the other manufacturer have never let me down It is extremely rare for those expensive cables to break their connection to the drives when moved.

My FreeNAS build would be perfect with this
5/5

DAC and SFP from 10Gtek have been used by me for a couple of years. My company has supplied me with the hardware I need to build a FreeNAS system. This weekend I picked up a SAS IT modem with an SFF interface The Dell MD1200 has eighteen hundred and sixty-four channels, but my Dell MD1200 has SFF A total of 8088 connectors are available. The electrical connection is the same, just the form factor is different. The drives were detected right away whenever both sides were plugged in. You know you can lock both sides in by the positive click, and with just a pull on the release tab, you can take it out again. A second one will be purchased for the multi-unit property It is a path-based I/O method.

In the end, we did not have any latching issues
4/5

The 2 has been changed Changing a 5-star rating to a 4-star My review is one star in part because the issue was solved, but I feel the plug design isn't perfect.

There was only one plug that sat properly the other one was loose and did not latch. In one of my devices I noticed that the connector socket was poorly designed and allowed the cable plug to be inserted at an incorrect angle (180 degrees), creating a bend in the connector that caused the connector to not latch. It's a great device, but the connector should have some kind of protection against being damaged by the socket. I give it 4 stars for that reason, but I think it's highly recommended.

I found it to be perfect for my needs
4/5

The cable I required to connect my SAS QNAP card to my external expansion unit was not included. With this cable you can connect the expansion unit to your SAS card without using the cable provided by QNAP with the expansion unit. This cable is long enough that you don't have to place them right next to each other as the supplied cable would have required.

The cable is of high quality
4/5

Cheaper cables have always been problematic in the past, but 10Gtek cables have never let me down. I switched to them years ago, and even after 100 or so cables I have yet to receive a bad cable. Locking mechanisms that work well and speeds that are appropriate. The quality you'd expect from a cable of this caliber. Compared to what they are, I believe they are a little overpriced. I think it is worth a little extra money if you are guaranteed that you will receive a working cable every time you order it.
