There are two Netapp 4246s and an LSI 9286 in the market today This version of the software is compatible with 8e

I have a pair of these cables connecting my Netapp 4246 to my LSI 9286-based disk array I hooked up both cables to the top controller on the disk shelf and all of the drives within the enclosure and disk shelf were detected by the RAID card without any problems. They work great and cost half of what the eBay sellers are asking for them.

The price is a bit steep, but it is hard to beat

I would generally agree with you if you feel that paying $40 for a 1 meter cable is a bit excessive. You will have a hard time finding cables at a lower price anywhere else, however. It's safe to assume that, regardless of what you're referring to, you have far more invested than $40 in that. As far as value goes, I would consider it decent. My experience with the cable so far has been quite positive, and I haven't encountered a problem with it yet.
