Questions & Answers

Can you tell me if this cable is forward or reverse? Is it possible for the description to say forward, but it does not appear to work (rAID ?

My raid card works fine with SSD drives in place of a raid card (I have a super micro motherboard hooked up to sata SSDs)

The cables come with 29 pin SAS jacks. Do the cables work with these Would it be possible to use a 29 pin connector if the back plane is Sata and the back plane inside the HDD cage is Sata?

My drives are SATA, so I am not sure.

The cable is good, looks nice, fits nicely in the case, and arrived on time
5/5

The cable is good, looks nice, fits nicely in the case, and arrived on time. I have no complaints, except that the cables do not connect directly to drives. To accomplish this you would need a different cable forward and perhaps a reverse break out. connected two of these cables to an IBM (LSI) MegaRAID card (flashed to LSI 2008 IT Admin mode) to use an HP SAS Expander. My first step was to connect the drives to the HP SAS Expander with forward breakout cables.

The cables should be flexible and of a high quality
5/5

Buying two sets (4 cables) and using them for an Intel SAS expander (RES2SV240) to two 8-inch monitors for my home desktop computer The SuperMicro enclosure (M28SAB) is driven. Regular SFFs can be much more difficult to route than these There are 8087 cable assemblies. Due to cable restrictions, I was unable to watch the movie Make sure the old cables are tied down to prevent strain on There is no strain on anything when using 10Gtek cables. Stacking all four while routing through tight spaces would be possible because the ribbons are so thin instead of thick tubes. There have so far been no signs of noise or crosstalk after a few weeks of use in the 16 hard drive All I ask is for a short 0 to be added. I require the 3m version so I can connect my HBA to my.

A high-quality product
5/5

The materials used for these appear to be high quality. The issue is not an issue at all.

An internal SATA to SFF interface that works well It is the 8087 network To connect an external SATA port to an internal SATA port, use this gadget I used an 8087 connector on the back of the system to connect to another chassis with multiple SATA drives using a single line (with a locking connector)
5/5

It appears to work well. I can still use an installed 1 m SATA cable between the two units (the SATA spec sets a maximum of 2m per cable) and it is long enough that it can easily reach the SATA connectors on the front of the system board to the connector on the back. bit more confidence that things won't come loose unexpectedly in the future and cause strange faults.

There's no need to worry

There's no need to worry. The rest of the message is rather short.

3rd party SAS cables that are the best available, period
5/5

There is no better SAS cable available than the best 3rd party cable. What's the reason? As a starting point, let's consider the following It includes interconnects made with latching Amphenol connectors and ribbon cables made by 3M. Additionally, it also has sideband cables for drive identification and so on (you would be amazed how many do not). I have experienced no quality issues or failures since using around a dozen of these over the past few months. I will tell you what makes it stand out from the crowd As a result of their ribbon construction and resilience to folding, these cables offer a huge amount of cable management and airflow potential. This led to greater airflow around fans, which led to a significant improvement in internal server chassis temperatures. By replacing 8 or so standard cables with round conductors in a braided sleeve with these ribbon cables, we were able to improve fan airflow dramatically. If you fold these flat at 90 degree angles without issues, (you might be afraid to do so),

this translates to using less power to achieve lower temperatures and, in turn, reduce mean failure rates. It's hard to criticize something like that, is it? A cable isn't just a cable when you consider the airflow by the server and the vast difference in surface area of a cable on a configuration such as a JBOD or a 4U server bursting with hot swap modules. Especially if you are building your own server for FreeNAS, Unraid, or what have you with a slew of aftermarket parts, this is not a trivial concern. If you are not careful, it turns into a rats' nest very quickly. The following offers are similar to those of other similar companies Similar to what I used to buy, these are very similar to the HP Proliant ribbon cables. There are however a couple of disadvantages to Proliant cables It is common to have a straight SFF and then a right angle one. You may want to opt for 8087 instead, which may not suit your layout. In my experience, replacement batteries for HP branded cables can cost up to $80 per There is a lack of available sizes (12M is the most common). Also, of interest I have bought a dozen of these from both H and B! GTek has fiber, so it's most likely a rebadged cable from an OEM manufacturer, not a GTek-branded cable. In my experience, there are no substantive differences between them. There is a GTek cable that is the shortest. Eight M, but only one With fiber, you can do so much more. An expander cable with a 5 meter length is great for connecting expanders to rear chassis external ports, as well as other short runs. The fiber cable suppliers have a less well-developed Amazon presence, which makes it difficult to find them in a search, but they are definitely worth looking into if you need the shortest cable length available. It is my only complaint (and this is also brought up by other reviews) Cable options with a shorter length. (A 25cm and 50cm offering, or 20cm, 30cm, and 50cm It'd also be a wise business decision, since many of the buyers of these cables are likely diy users increasingly looking for things like smaller factors with excellent temperatures, lower rpm fans, and so on. So excess cabling that has been bundled and cable tied should certainly be avoided. In addition, a lot of your hot swaps are going to use Intel expanders, so the distance between your hot swaps and the expander as well as from the expander to the motherboard or external ports will likely be short. In my case for example, I have I think using an 8M cable go 4 inches in distance to reach an external port from an Intel RES2CV360 is silly, and doubly silly if I use two of them for dual-link operation. It is likely that a standard 25cm cable from Dell etc. will actually be of benefit in this case. Due to the fact that it does not act as a limitation of the item I purchased rather it is one of the product lines available to me, I did not dock a star. It is my hope, however, that the sellers will listen to me.
