Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use the HTC Vive with a graphics card?

The only games you'll be able to play at that resolution and at 90 frames per second are older games with a resolution of 2160x1200 (1080x1200 per eye)br>Refresh rate90 Hzbr>The only games you'll be able to play at that resolution and at that refresh rate are older games. At 1440p and 60 frames per second, it can do dying light. It also has a 4k resolution of around 30 frames per second. 40 fps. I'm not sure if you need to run it at that resolution or at that hz or fps for it to work. You could play at that resolution and frame rate if you reduced each eye piece to around 720p. br>This card is roughly comparable to a 980, not the ti, but the standard 980. In Heaven 4, I get 1800 points. 0 is about the same as a 980. To be honest, I doubt a 1080 gtx could run modern games at that resolution and at maximum settings of 90 frames per second. I don't believe so; here are some figures from anandtech; the lower number is 1060, and the higher number is 1080. Grand Theft Auto V is a video game developed by Rockstar Games and published by Rockstar Games. 2560x1440 is a resolution of 2560 pixels by 1440 pixels. If you don't mind the lower resolution, it'll suffice.br>The Dk2 low persistence can only run at 72 frames per second. Low persistence appears to be used by Valve as well. When you drop below the low persistence fps threshold, you get a horrible stroboscopic effect that you didn't get with Dk1. So, yes, 90 frames per second is required. When the display refreshes while waiting for new frames, the last rendered frame is reused multiple times, resulting in stuttering. br>So, yes, you'd have to run at a lower resolution.

What audio drivers is it equipped with? Is it capable of delivering Dolby True HD and DTS Master audio?

Nvidia provides drivers for Windows 7, despite the fact that Windows controls the audio. GeForce Experience, the company's driver update software, allows for 1 surround sound.

Is it possible for me to use a 375 watt power supply? Using a six-pin connector?

A 350400 Watt power supply unit is required for the card on a typical system. br>However, you must also consider hard drives, CPUs, fans, and devices that connect to USB ports. In all honesty, to be on the safe side, I wouldn't recommend anything less than 500W. If you draw more power than your PSU can supply on a consistent basis, your PSU may die.

Is it possible to install/update a dell xps for this asus 1060 that already has a gpu gpx 1050?

I believe the Dell XPS is a laptop, so you won't be able to use it. This card can only be used on a desktop.

The computer kept crashing due to thermal issues
3/5

I really wanted to enjoy this card. I usually buy EVGA video cards, but their 2060 cards didn't have my preferred cooler style (blower with exhaust out the back of the case), and they all had fewer or legacy outputs, which I was avoiding. As a result, this card appeared to be a viable choice. I've had good luck with Asus cards in the past, and I trust their motherboards, so I figured it was a safe bet, but the (thermal) performance of this card was simply unacceptable. br>br>I installed this card in a brand new PC I was building, with plenty of cooling and power, but no matter what I did, the card would overheat and lock up the machine within minutes of starting a game with the default settings. I experimented with the fan profile in the included Asus GPU Tweak II software and was able to get the card to run stable for longer periods of time, but even that resulted in a lockup. The only thing that seemed to fix this was setting the blower to run at 100% all the time (which sounds a little like a hair dryer). br>br>I don't overclock; I'd rather have simplicity and stability than the constant tinkering required to squeeze every last ounce of performance from my hardware. I expect a video card to work with its default settings when I plug it in. That was not the case with this card. I'm not sure if it's a manufacturing flaw or faulty firmware that has resulted in a faulty default fan profile. To be honest, I paid far too much for this card to be interested in learning more about it. I've returned it and replaced it with an EVGA card, which I'm hoping will perform better despite the less-than-ideal cooler and port configuration.

If you don't mind the loud clicking at 5000 rpm, mine performs similarly to the 1070
3/5

Most of the games I've played so far on ultra haven't shown any noticeable frame drops. Origin premier games such as Battlefield 5 and Anthem, as well as steam games such as Farcry 5, Fallout 4, Metro Last Light, and Grand Theft Auto 5, are among the titles in my collection. The only time I encountered any problems was in Battlefield 5, when I enabled DXR for a laugh. Except for the city, which was still at the beginning of the map, it ran surprisingly smoothly. The game play was not harmed in any way. br>br>In terms of noise, I've had a dual fan gtx 660 and a dual fan rx 580, both of which were louder than this card when it ramped up. To check if the fan was running, I had to open the side case. This is my first blower style card, and I've heard they make a lot of noise, but it's the quietest video card I've had in a long time. br>br>In terms of price per pound, this thing appears to be neck and neck with a 1070, and those are another 100-pound difference. I'm guessing it's in good condition because it cost $200 new. It's still a little pricey for me, but I'm not sorry I bought it. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: So, the card has a loud tick in the fan, and I've run into an issue with it. It happened during installation, and I initially assumed it was due to paper, but it returned. With a vengeance, it's louder than it's ever been. When I removed it, I noticed that some of the screw heads had tool marks on them. I'm hoping they didn't send me a refurbished one at full price; now that Amazon's lemon period has passed, I'll have to go to the manufacturer myself. Well, I don't regret my purchase, but I am extremely disappointed.

An unbiased opinion from a man on a tight budget
5/5

As a result, I always like to do extensive research on the products I buy before making a purchase. I ordered the 1060 at 10 p. m. the other night and got it around 3 p. m. the next day. The speed with which it arrived surprised me. However, because I had never installed anything before, installing was a little difficult for me, but the manual is very straightforward, and there are plenty of videos on YouTube to help you figure it out. My 500w power supply, which I had also purchased for my PC, was the most difficult part of my installation. Both of these upgrades were installed on my Acer Aspire ATC-1000 laptop. 780A- UR12. I purchased this PC for $500 a little over a year ago and have used it to stream my gaming addictions as well as complete schoolwork. Before installing the new graphics card, I was only getting about 30 frames per second on games like Overwatch, CSGO, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and others (ON LOW SETTINGS) with everything turned off. I hopped on Overwatch after installing the graphics card and noticed an immediate difference; it changed my settings automatically and I was playing at nearly 120 FPS on ultra settings. After that, I tried CSGO and was able to play at a speed of 220-percentile. 260 FPS! The fact that this graphics card was able to help my PC so much astounded me. To be honest, I think my PC is quieter now, and when I check my CPU in task manager, it's almost always maxed out, but it was running at 10-percent. 20% following the installation of the GTX 1060 graphics card. I'm so glad I bought this, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone who doesn't want to spend more than $300 on a card; this card does more than enough for me, but anything faster than 30 frames per second would have made me happy. I'm currently spending $750 on my gaming PC and couldn't be happier! br>br>Oh, and after booting up my PC, I did have one problem. I attempted to download the software from the NVIDIA website but was unable to do so because my task scheduler was not running - If this happens to you, all you have to do is watch a YouTube video about it. (I believe this was due to a problem with my PC)br>br>aside from that, this is a fantastic product, especially for the price! I give it 5 stars (;.
