Questions & Answers

Will this work with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 600W power supply?

Yes, you can run this card with a Zen 5 series ir i5 series and a 400 watt power supply on average. Simply calculate how much power is used if you use water cooling or a lot of fans. I used a msi 1660 super and a 350 watt i5 processor. While the previous answer was yes, but an 80+ is correct, you should purchase a psu that is not gold rated.

Is it possible to use this with a Z97?

Yes. It will work on any motherboard that supports PCIe and Windows 10 (starting in 2004).

Is it equipped with any led or RGB lights that can be controlled via software?

The card does not have any lights or RGB.

Is it possible to use this with an AMD fx-series graphics card? 6300 6- core 3. 5 ghz (4. (Turbo 1 GHz)?

Yes, but in some games and workloads, that processor may be a bottleneck for the 1660S. An older Sandy Bridge or even an early Ryzen processor is a much better choice.

It's not the best time to invest in a new graphics card
3/5

I had to deduct another star because Amazon would not allow me to write an honest review. The card is fantastic, but the manufacturer's choices are poor. I recently upgraded from an FX-100 to an FX-200 a month or two prior to this purchase. To Ryzen 52600x and 16gb 3000mhz, 8350, 16gb 1600mhz ram. Very nice upgrade, so nice that it kept my GTX 970 at 0 load while gaming, which quickly killed the old card. I bought this in a hurry because I didn't want to spend the extra $150 on the 5700xt. Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080p on the ultra preset runs fine on the 1660 super. However. Many people have recently complained that GPUs "need" a backplate at this price point. True to some extent, provided the backplate serves a purpose, which it does not. Because it's made of plastic, it's not very durable, and it doesn't dissipate heat as well as metal. So one star deducted for a useless backplate that will not prevent my card from sagging over time, and another star deducted for MSI consciously doing this to avoid complaints rather than defending themselves. However, it appears that this year, every manufacturer, including EVGA, Gigabyte, and Asus "Tuf," is building components as cheaply as possible. This year has been a disappointment in every way. If you want to upgrade your graphics card, wait until the next generation RTX or the next Radeon card is released; it's a terrible time to die in video with 12 or 13 cards released in a year (three versions of the 1660 lol). ) and AMD are both releasing cards that are unstable and have ridiculously high operating temperatures.

This is an excellent upgrade
5/5

Excellent graphics card. I had a GTX 1060 6GB for a long time before this, and the 1660 super is a nice step up. In almost every game I benchmarked or played, I noticed a significant difference.

It was a relatively inexpensive upgrade that completely transformed my gaming experience
5/5

This is an excellent card for 1080p gaming! I used to have a 970 mini that was starting to fail. I was about to give up PC gaming because I was having so many hard crashes, especially in glitchy games. This was $240 in the United States, and it fit my semi-automated vehicle perfectly. claustrophobic case Everything I throw at it now works flawlessly, at very high settings, and at the 60 frames per second I want HDMIed to my big screen. I'm content with myself. I'm satisfied just to avoid crashing, but having the performance I desire at my low level of involvement is fantastic. It's not a 4k beast, but it's the most my old i7 4790 system can handle without bottlenecking. My computer is finished, and I'll upgrade to a new rig in a year or two, but for now, that slot is filled, and the performance is fantastic.

Coil whine is loud and noticeable: So I'm upgrading from an MSI GTX 970, which has served me well for many years with no problems
3/5

br>I figured MSI would be the brand to stick with for a consistently good experience. br>br>Unfortunately, the sound this card makes caught me completely off guard. When the FPS counter rises above 60 FPS while playing a game, I hear this weird clicky tappy buzzy noise. The noise is more noticeable as the frame rate rises. br>br>At first, I thought to myself, "Oh man. Is that really how the fans sound when they turn up the volume? "br>When the buzzing started, I went over to my PC and physically stopped the fans from moving for a few seconds, but the buzzing continued! br>At that point, I knew I was hearing a nasty coil whine, which is distinct from fan noise and cuts through all of the other mild sounds my PC normally makes. br>br>On the plus side, this card's 3dmark score nearly doubled that of my GTX 970, so I'm very pleased with the value for money I'm getting with this upgrade. br>br>I'm going to order another 1660 Super to see if it has coil whine as well, and I'll keep the card that is quieter. br>Perhaps I just received a faulty noisy card that got past quality control. Let's see how things go.

For most FPS, a competitive setting of 144 to 240 frames per second is sufficient
5/5

Great graphics card! Arrived on time, in excellent condition, with no visible external or internal damage. I hooked it up to a R5 2600 and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. And believe me when I say it runs extremely smoothly. When I play Fortnite on the lowest setting, I get around 200-300 points. a 1% low of 90FPS and a 140 high of 140 and a 1% high of I tried streaming at 720p 60 frames per second on one of them. And had a 120-minute work week on average. (There is a limit of 144). At all high settings (240 FPS), Csgo worked flawlessly! Anything goes well with this card, and I strongly advise you to purchase it. I was apprehensive about purchasing from a third-party seller, but my fears were unfounded. It was a great deal, with quick shipping and excellent customer service; this is definitely a 5/5!.

The 1660 Super isn't bad, but it's a bit loud
4/5

I'd go with Gigabyte's Windforce instead. Overall, this is a good card, but the fans are a little too loud, the stock fan curve isn't aggressive enough, and one of the screws says "warranty void if removed. " I believe in the right to repair, and using thermal paste to repair thermals on a card can save you money and reduce e-waste. Overall, the Gigabyte Windforce model is the better choice. It has quieter fans and does not void the warranty if the sticker is removed. Mediocre.
