Thermal tape is not heat conductive and is more like industrial adhesive. I purchased this to try to solve an overheating issue with my 3090 graphics card. Thermal tape looked strange to me, I hadn't seen anything like it before. My heatsinks didn't budge when I tried to move them, almost bonded to the back of the case! The tape should be removed and the thermal pads and/or thermal grease should be used instead. I had a bad.
This external storage is being used with a PS5 that has a 2TB Samsung T7. I slapped two of these things on it. It runs hotter than its predecessors, a common complaint about the T7. These appeared to be going to help prevent throttleing, so I picked them up. That's what they do, too. Heat spread easily through them, and the increased performance came as a result. About 3/4 of the way through it I see a drop in download and transfer speeds. Near the end of the download on the T7, the CPU used to throttling like crazy. The problem is that it no longer works. I think it's worthwhile to consider. Remember to make sure you stick these things in a safe place. (Use dental floss) Getting them off is a hassle.
In Stadia, I play at 4K/60 frames per second. I like it a after hour passed without Chromecast freezing up. After 30 minutes, it was hot enough to fry an egg. If you cast a few of these guys to the Chromecast, you'll realize that it's cooler than the other side of the pillow after a few hours.
To reduce memory temps, I stacked these on top of my 3080. They seem to be working well! Because I was not sure if I wanted to risk etching my backplate for future reasons, I didn't glue them to the backplate. However, it has been lowering temperatures even just by placing it on top of the GPU! In an under load test, HWInfo shows that the temperature drops about 6 degrees Celsius due to the huge amount of heat generated by the heat sinks (which is great). It is well worth the effort!.
The hot stepper motor on my 3D printer caused the filament to become soft and break off inside the extruder after an hour of printing when I recently replaced the extruder mechanism with an all-metal one. Two of these placed on each visible side of the motor seem to have fixed the problem and filament no longer breaks, inside and out.
The cooling pad seems to be working quite well and appears to have decreased the VRAM temperatures on my RTX 3090 GPUs (covered by the metal backplate found on MSI and Zotac models) by about 4°C. A cooldown of 5 degrees, a reduction in GPU temperature of 1 degree Compared to Alibaba or Banggood, it is a little pricey, but 2 day delivery is a nice touch. This should extend the life of a 3090 nicely, and it is well worth the time and money you put into it.
I was experiencing chronic overheating issues with my Garmin Mini dash camera, so I found a simple fix to the problem. Getting hot and turning off the unit as a result of an abundance of sunlight. On the back of the camera, the heat sink was an ideal fit. Because the fins get quite warm and the camera hasn't shut down, I believe the adhesive is strong and conducts a lot of heat. The product I received was very good.
The machine work is good. It is of good It keeps my stepper motors cool to a great extent.
