He's going about it all wrong.
Unless you clamp it, Arctic Silver 5 is not an adhesive and will only hold a heat sink in place by suction (yes, like a suction cup). If Peltiers aren't clamped down, I use thermal adhesive tape; otherwise, I use thermal grease whenever adhesion isn't required by the conductive medium.
Yes, it will work with a Playstation 4, but make sure it stays on the chip and does not come into contact with the metal prongs on the sides of the PlayStation 4 chip. It's more than enough to use one tube.

Because I could hear the fan immediately kick on in high mode when I turned on the PS4, I assumed the thermal paste was gone from my chip. I'd probably play for about 5 minutes before getting an overheating error and the Playstation shutting down. I took apart and cleaned off my chip, which had almost no paste on it as you can see in the picture. I close the PS4 and apply some artic to the chip. I turned it on, and I haven't heard the fan go into high gear since. I'm very happy with how well Artic functions. Without a doubt, I would recommend it.
For the past ten years, I've been involved with the gaming PC hobby. Arctic Silver 5 was the thermal paste I was using at the time, and it's still the one I'm using now. Many tech sites recommend newer pastes, but I've found that arctic silver 5 is still the best for me, and it gets better with time.
Arctic Silver 5 was the winner in the end. It's the only thermal compound I've ever used over the years because it's never failed me. Not once. br>br>As someone who doesn't tinker or build on a regular basis, I appreciate the small tube size, as it will most likely dry out before I need it again. One application lasted nearly five years for me! Although I don't recommend waiting that long, you should be able to get two. If you're not into tinkering, you'll have to wait three years. Just keep an eye on the temperature of your CPU. A new coat is recommended if nothing else has changed and they begin to creep up. br>br>When I first purchased AS5, the excellent spreader tool that came with the purchase was not included. I don't think there's any reason to look at other thermal compound options now that they've included that. The price point is within my budget, and the seller delivered it super, duper quickly; if only all shopping experiences were this pleasant. If you use this product, you will not go wrong. br>br>.
Is it silver from the arctic? Other products, I believe, would enjoy being reviewed as "Like arctic silver" at this point in its history.
Under full load, my PC began to stutter. When I looked at the temperatures, I noticed that they were reaching 90 degrees Celsius when the machine was working hard - This was alarming because I have a large CPU cooler.
I ordered lint free cloths as well as this thermal paste. I used 91% isopropyl alcohol on the lint free cloths to remove the old% I repeated the process twice more in a buffing motion to get the area as clean as possible, using a clean area of the cloth each time until all of the thermal compound had been removed. br>br>I then used a pea-sized dot of Arctic Silver 5 on my desktop CPU (no spreader), and reinstalled the CPU cooler by evenly placing it back on the CPU with a subtle rolling motion to push any air bubbles out. The CPU cooler was then screwed down in an "X" pattern, one screw at a time. br>br>The temperature of my load dropped by about 30 degrees Celsius. My old thermal paste wasn't properly applied. It was completely dry, and air bubbles could be seen in the paste. br>br>Overall, a fantastic paste!.
The quality and value of this Thermal Paste are excellent, but the spatula tool that comes with it is ineffective. This compound is dense and sticky, which is great for ensuring good connectivity and durability in its use; however, because it is dense and sticky, the spatula tool doesn't really work to apply or spread the compound; instead, it just grabs all of it and pulls it off the surface you're trying to apply to. Instead of trying to spread it, you should just use the syringe and apply the appropriate amount directly to your surfaces.
My brother-in-law's PS4 was overheating and shutting down completely after only a few minutes of playing a game. When this happened, the console didn't feel hot to the touch (as I'd expect if it was overheating). I made a mistake. He became dissatisfied with his current one and decided to purchase a new one - As a result, he entrusted us with his old one. br>br>After some online research, it appeared that the likely culprit was the thermal paste, which needed to be replaced. After watching a tutorial, I was astounded at how simple it appeared to be to replace it. I wasn't sure which brand to buy because they all claim to do the same thing, but Arctic Silver seemed to be the most popular, so I went with that. br>br>It was incredibly simple to apply (look up the spread method and why it's the better option of application) and even came with a pliable spatula-type tool, which is extremely useful. This small tube was far more than sufficient. I think I could replace the thermal paste on 15 PS4s if I had to guess. You don't use a great deal of it. A small amount of something can go a long way. br>br>For less than the price of a fast food burger, I have a fully functional console that I use to spank my husband and son while they play any game they want. I started out as a girl with a broken PS4 and now have the ability to play against my husband, son, and brother-in-law (while also owning all of them)! br>br>Excellent product, simple to use, and affordable; highly recommended!.
The computer would turn on, then shut down due to overheating. I didn't think it was the motherboard, so I removed the heat sink/fan, cleaned it, and reapplied this paste. After that, the BIOS message "CPU Fan Failure" appeared, and the computer booted up and has been running without issue for the past 24 hours. I restarted after turning it off. My $8 investment in this product was more profitable than a paid protection plan. Thanks!.
