I bought this to upgrade the wires on my subs, and while out changing them, I came across a white dude dressed as a cholo attempting to steal my subs. Long story short, I tied him up with the wire, and the cops forgot to return it when they cuffed him. I suppose I'll need to place another order.
Copper clad aluminum wire, made in China, at a low price from an untrustworthy seller. It is copper-clad aluminum, not copper wire. Look at the image. The cut ends are almost certainly silver in color, indicating that they are made of aluminum. There is no mention of anything other than copper in the advertisement. Purchase is not recommended!.
Not bad; it appears to be OFC, but it is not true 8AWG. I tried it with 8AWG crimp lugs, but the wire kept sliding out after crimping. I experimented with 9AWG lugs and found that they were a perfect fit. Although there was not a significant difference in size, I deducted one star because it was not true to specification. But, aside from that, it does what I need it to do.
My subs have been hitting harder than they have been in the past.
It is what it claims to be, but it is extremely stiff, which I dislike.
Although the wire is a little flimsy, this is an excellent subwoofer cable. The coating, or shielding, or whatever you want to call it, is pliable and strong at the same time, and the cable beneath it provides a great signal. I just wish the wire didn't cut so easily when you cut through the protective coating. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is because of this.
Perhaps 8 if you add both power and ground. It's still a little too thick for what I'm using it for. I think up to 3000 watts should be fine, but I'm no expert.
