Yes, I understand what you're saying because I've experienced the same thing. Remove the block from your mount by holding the bolt on the threads with vice grips. Because the plastic is all rounded and won't hold when you tighten the new connection, get a new stainless steel bolt and epoxy it in at the head. Ed K, I hope you find this information useful.
The number of wires you can connect is determined by the thickness of the terminals attached to your wire and can be stacked up to 5/8" on each of the four studs.
The metal plate on which the studs are mounted is attached to the plastic with screws, but due to the location of the screws, you wouldn't be able to separate the four sections. You could cut it in half and have two sections, each with two studs, and still screw it to the plastic.
To use these distribution blocks, connect the battery's () side to the red distribution block and the (-) side to the black distribution block. ) to the black distribution block on the battery's positive side. Instead of connecting to the battery directly, you can now connect your accessories to the distribution blocks. Always remember to size your wiring for the anticipated load and to use anti-static tape. To avoid galling, seize the threads.

When I needed to add solar to my RV, the number of connectors on the battery terminals was getting out of hand, so these came in handy for cleaning up the wiring. They're well-made, and the black caps make it simple to remove the cover to get to the terminals. Although 5/16" is a good size for most terminal ring connectors, the large nuts can also hold 3/8" ring connectors in place.
Make sure everything is in place before tightening it up. Because the plating on the bolts and nuts causes thread gauling and the nut freezes on the bolt when you need to loosen them, I ended up removing the bus from the plastic, cutting the bolts, and replacing them with stainless grade 5 bolts and hardware. Also, one of the studs in the plastic turned/twisted, so I would recommend removing the bus from the plastic, torqueing the bolts, and reassembling it.
First, the first bolt's plastic hex recess failed to hold the head as I tightened the nut, causing the bolt head to spin inside the recess. While trying to loosen the nut back off, I had to remove the metal plating to get to the bolt head. The nut seized and the bolt broke off as I tried to loosen it. I was able to salvage a bolt from a single post junction block that I no longer needed, and the end result was satisfactory, but it took far more effort and frustration than a brand new unit should. Hopefully, I won't have the same problem when I mount cables to the other three posts, and that this was a one-time quality control failure rather than a sign of future trends. Fastronix products are my favorites, and I plan to continue to use them.
I was rearranging some wiring and had to break my cables free with a dremel. The hardware isn't of the best quality. br>br>I do not recommend this product; it looks great out of the box, and it appears to work well for the first connection, but I expect to be using my dremel more in the coming days: Before attempting to back off the remaining connections, I'll see if penetrating oil can help lubricate the threads. br>br>It's a pity. I really like the way they turned out.
If you decide to buy this item, please keep in mind the following: Before using, make sure the bolts are of high quality. I put my wiring in place and tightened it. Then I realized I needed to make a minor adjustment to one of them. They weren't going to budge. I ended up yanking the cables from the other end, dismantling the strip, and putting the head of the bolt in a vise, but it still wouldn't loosen. In the end, I had to twist bolts into place. After replacing the bolts, the strip worked perfectly. I would have returned it if it hadn't been for the fact that I needed it today.
This is something I put on my Jeep a couple of days ago. My Jeep has too many things connected to the positive power terminal on the battery, so I figured this would be ideal. However, while installing it, I decided to move one of the cables from one terminal to another, and it seized up when I tried to loosen one of the nuts. Now that the nut was frozen to the post and the cable was loose, I had to hacksaw it off. I'm not a novice when it comes to mechanics, so I didn't overtighten it. It's either of very poor quality, or I received a lemon. The other three studs and nuts appear to be in good working order. This is something I would never buy again.
I ordered these in black and red to replace my A-frame's dreadful OEM electrical. camper with a frame In the electrical room, everything was a haphazard wirenut and electrical tape disaster. br>br>With these bars, I was able to redo everything in a much more orderly manner, wire in a solar controller, and clean everything up in general, making future projects much easier to install. Troubleshooting will be greatly improved as well. When purchasing these, keep the following in mind: br>br> These aren't your typical 4x posts. There are also three smaller screws for smaller connectors. While I did require additional small size connector bus bars in my setup, I found that I didn't require them at all, and I imagine that most people won't.
I was building a so-called "solar generator" and needed a good bus bar with a capacity of at least 200 amps. There are four 3/8 studs on this bus bar, as well as three 20-amp screw terminals. They're simple to put together and work well. This bus bar is home to my 12v cigarette lighter/USB output, 45 amp AC charger, and solar charge controller. br>br>This is the ideal power distribution system for my project; it is extremely durable, adaptable, and capable of handling up to 250 amps. The protective covers are well-designed and perform admirably. These bus bars have exceeded my expectations, and I strongly suggest them. I give them 5 stars because they are an excellent value for the money.
