They're made of stainless steel, to be sure.
I'm not sure how far apart they should be. The road was clogged with trucks. The 3/0 battery terminals had plenty of room to be attached. Because of the molding on the terminals, I had to modify the covers, but there was plenty of space on the studs.

I needed to run a heavy cable from the high-output alternator to the battery, but there wasn't enough room in the stud on the starter for another cable. As a result, I purchased this terminal block in order to have more places to connect wires. This component is of excellent quality and functioned flawlessly. It's well-made, with a nice backing on the base that's screwed down to either steel or, in my case, a fiberglass floor. If you buy this part, you will not be disappointed.
This is a high-quality, heavy-duty item. Knockouts are included in the cover. To fit on these lugs, I had to drill out and slightly enlarge my 3/8 crimp on connectors; the photo I included shows 4/0 battery cables with 3/8 crimp on connectors for sizing reference.
It was the only completely covered option I could find for my battery relocation, so it worked out well. Everything else just sits there exposed.
It's a little on the pricey side, but it does everything I need it to. I'm a big fan of the plastic screws. on the back of the book's cover There are no instructions for removing the four plastic covers that cover the openings. I initially mistook them for break out covers, but they actually slide out to the bottom.
Sturdy and of a good size. It was very simple to install. I replaced the provided screws with better ones because the provided screws were not sheet metal self tapping. br>br>I will almost certainly order this and other products from this manufacturer and supplier again. The 3/8 post is what I ordered.
The fact that these are so sturdy impressed me. The hole covers slide outward and can be reused, as mentioned by another person. I nearly mistook them for punch-bags. It was the same way with me at first.
Solid, heavy weight. I use it in my engine compartment for the main ground bus bar. Nice cover with sections that can be removed for a clean installation. I'd suggest it.
