After having had this sub in my car for 3 weeks, it took 10+ hours of frustrating, hair-tearing installation time for it to work for the first time. Had I known a few simple things from the beginning, I could have probably avoided those numerous hours. Considering that I work with audio and live sound for a living, I figured this would be a piece of cake for me. The installation of car audio is a totally different thing, so here are my 2 cents that might save another customer hours of aggravation. 1) get an ANL fuse that can handle 60 volts or more The amps are 80. When you run 8 gauge power to the battery, with no additional fuse separating it from the source, this can be extremely dangerous and the fuses in the sub aren't designed to protect you from 2) this sub had a BUILT IN LINE OUT CONVERTER, so you won't need to buy one of those little LOC boxes that most people buy for their subwoofer In spite of this, the cables that come with the sub make you THINK that you need one, since they are female RCA to high level inputs. there is a bridge within the amp itself, so you will have to cut from each end of the cable. Next, you will use a T-connector to connect the R positive and L positive, the R negative and L negative to your car's speaker harness. You can get the TAP and quick connect at any Advance Auto Parts store. You need to connect the high level input to the subwoofer in your car, not the speakers in the rear or the doors, or it will sound 1) no remote wire is required. 2) you do not need to run a remote wire. It was my error I misread the instructions and wasted so much time running a wire to my head unit and fuse box that I didn't even need. Since the sub is connected to the high level input, it has an intelligent turn on that senses audio and turns itself on. Break the sub in slowly, allow the speaker to move air without turning it up too high for a week or two, and don't drive it crazy for the first month.
