Questions & Answers

Is there anyone who owns one of these who can tell me what the frequency response is like? They appear to have forgotten to include it in the product description. Thanks! ?

The frequency swipe was given to you by Jayce, and the fs on the speakers is 58. I have them on the back deck of my car with 45WRMS, and they do a fantastic job of filling in the bass. I'm not sure how they'll sound without an amplifier. br>The treble attenuator is also very useful; it does a fantastic job with highs! br>These are comparable to a Kenwood Excelon I owned a few years ago. if not better (due to treble response)br>You will not be disappointed if you purchase them!

Is this a set of two speakers or just one?

It's a set of two speakers. 2 pieces.

What is the wattage output on a RMS basis?

Maximum power is 300 watts at 150 watts in rms. I'm not sure why it isn't mentioned in the listing. You will not be disappointed with these 6x9's because they have the best sounding 6x9's I've ever heard!

What is that small button in the middle of the speaker for, and what does it mean?

It's for adjusting the tweeter's sound, but I can't tell if it makes a difference.

The sound quality is excellent
3/5

They do not, however, stand behind their product, so as soon as I received them, I took them to my shop and installed them. When I first turned them on, I heard a slight snapping in one of the high-bass speakers. Remember, I'm using my stock amp, which only produces around 30 rms at best. While one speaker sounded great and had a lot of bass, the other sounded great and was very clean. When I contacted customer service, they refused to accept the defective speaker because it had not been professionally installed. Despite the fact that I am a professional and the owner of a small business. I suppose I'm doomed because I did it on my own time. Anyway, I kept the speaker, and it has gotten a lot worse over the last year. Almost every time a bass note is played, it snaps like crazy. As a result, I ripped out the speaker and replaced it with a new one. I'd like to reorder these, but I'm afraid I'll end up with another defective one.

What the heck is going on? I'm completely taken aback by these speakers
5/5

For a pair of shoes, I only paid $55! That's on par with Walmart's shoddy speakers. These speakers, on the other hand, sound like they're worth $300. Over the years, I've squandered a lot of money on overpriced speakers that don't improve the sound. But this is a high-end speaker from a renowned speaker manufacturer! The highs are luscious and creamy, while the lows are silky and rich. I was listening to some music with a lot of bass, and I swear I had an 8-inch sub in the back. I'm currently using a stock head unit with it. I'm in ecstasy right now. For the money, I couldn't have chosen a better speaker. It'll make you happy.

The sound is fantastic
5/5

The speakers produce incredible sound that you would not believe!! I installed a GTO series 6x9 in the back, and a 6-speed manual transmission in the front. In the front, 1/2 seperates are connected to a Rockford R- They're 400D 4ch and they perform like a champ. I was planning on installing Alpine or Rockford speakers in my door speakers, but after hearing about JBL's sound quality, I decided to give them a shot, and I'm glad I did! It's got everything: clarity, crispness, and vocals. My neighbors are already complaining, and my subwoofers have yet to be installed. They are, without a doubt, LOUD. br>br>With the two Rockford 10inch T2s I'm putting in the trunk, it'll sound great. br>EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED!.

It's a fantastic idea
5/5

These speakers have a deep bass and sound amazing. I had them installed at a sound audio place and they did a great job in my 2000 Toyota Solara. I'm definitely going to enjoy these newer JBL speakers vs the stock JBL I had in the car, which sounded fine at first but were blown out due to being too loud, but now that I have these new ones installed it kills the stock speakers, that's all I have to say.

It was well worth the money

Backseat Speakers Require Minor Modifications 6. It will fit a 2002 Honda Civic Ex with a few adjustments. br>br>For the doors, remove your original speakers, cut out and remove the speaker, but keep the plastic base that the speaker was seated on and use it as a foundation for the 6. There are five JBL speakers in total. For the 6, br>br> There are nine JBL speakers, one of which is a subwoofer. ) cut out the mesh portion of the plastics and some, but this is not something I would recommend. If you don't mind them resting above the mesh, simply screw them over the mesh part, lining up over the hole. In addition, there are three. ) Get some wood and make some cutouts for the 6. 9JBL speakers must be perfectly positioned, and the rest, I'm sure, is obvious. Vibrations should be dampened, and other such things should be avoided. Best wishes to you. br>br>Another thing to keep in mind: You can simply remove all of the panels and the backseat speaker plastic covers; I didn't do this because I didn't have much time.

After an hour of use, the speaker has become unusable
3/5

It has a lot of bass but not a lot of highs. UPDATE 1: I had them in for less than an hour and one of them blew a tweeter or the crossover went bad they didn't have great highs when I put them in but now it sounds like an am station is playing my cds they do have great bass for a 6x9 now I'm not sure if I'll replace them with the same speaker probably going to try some Polks but these were at such a great price and had such great reviews,,I really liked them until one went bad, although The worst part is that I have an 04 Grand Prix, which makes removing the rear speakers a pain, and now I have to do it all over again. At the very least, Amazon's return policy is reasonable. UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: I decided to give Pioneer's 5 way 6x9 (Pioneer TS-6) a try. A6995R) because they were the same price as these (I used to own a set of 4 way Pioneer 6x9 speakers). Comparing them to these JBL's BEFORE my speakers went south (very quickly, I might add), the JBL's had a tad better low end bass (again, connected to a 75x2 rms amp and Factory deck), but everything else was about the same except the pioneers had barely better mid bass and barely better highs. They sounded almost identical, but neither speaker blew me away in terms of quality, but they were both excellent value for money. I wish my JBL's hadn't gone bad because I'd give them the edge over the Pioneers if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted better bass (had just a smidgeon better low end) and they're in the back deck of a four-door 2004 Grand Prix, but I've read a lot of reviews on them with similar issues. br>br>my review before they brokebr>br>These speakers are a bargain at their current price. I have an 04 Grand Prix with a factory (non-Monsoon) deck, and my back factory 6x9 speakers were bad, and I had a Pioneer amp sitting around collecting dust, so I figured I'd install the JBL speakers and the Pioneer amp with the factory deck. I listened to the speakers with only the head unit powering them, and they sounded good, but there wasn't a lot of power going to them. br> Then I hooked them up to my Pioneer amp (75x2) and WOW they sounded great with the factory deck and they crank they have great bass (when hooked up to amp) not the best highs but that isnt as much of an issue since they are in the back of my car, I don't think I would like them as much if they were in my door, I had the Pioneer amp in another car a few years ago with some Pioneer 6x9 4 ways with 22oz magnet However, I could never find JBL speakers for the price I paid on Amazon back then.

Not compatible with the following vehicles: The service was terrible, and the product did not fit my vehicle
3/5

It also did not state that it would not fit my vehicle, as other speakers on the website do, so my car is ripped apart with no speakers. Because my bank account was hacked, Amazon can only offer me a gift card rather than a refund. It's ridiculous! Now I'm stuck with an Amazon gift card and will have to buy speakers somewhere else. Horrible customer service!.
