Sony XAV-AX5000 7” Apple Car Play, Android Auto, Media Receiver with Bluetooth

The idea of a bezel appealed to me The screen is less prominent. However, Sony did not include any of the other items that would have enhanced the experience. Listed here is a rundown of the features I found lacking in this Pioneer enough for me to return it in one day. With an approximate price of $500, it should at least include SOME of these items. A screen that is not customizable with screens or colors, etc. not an HDMI input
No HD radio or HDMI input on a 10-inch screen The band EQ has no time alignment and it can only do 2v pre-programming Out of the box there are some features I've forgotten, but what really turned me off was the fact that it's a very basic headunit at a premium price. I cannot justify it, no matter how nice Every piece of information was displayed only in simple text. There isn't even a means to merely enter the number of the channel The "CH" button has to be held down for ever in order to go up in station. Even if it is trivial, it seems unnecessary at this price. I spent a little more on the Pioneer AVH-S300 You have done an excellent job! you're going to spend almost $500 on a headunit, either get everything you could possibly need, or spend a little more and get everything plus more you could ever imagine.

With this radio you get a lot of things done well, including a nice display, a useful touch screen, and out of the box thinking that gives you extra space during installation.

However, Android Auto compatibility was the most important factor to me when buying the radio. My commute to work is about 30 minutes each way and Android Auto locks up between 10 and 15 minutes en route. In order to make my phone work again, I need to unplug it and plug it back in It is not possible to restart the app in any other way. I have to turn off my car's ignition in order to regain my radio on after having problems with Android Auto. If I try just to connect via Bluetooth only, the radio will not reconnect. In searching for solutions to the problem, I have read dozens of posts, but so far no solutions have been offered. The USB cable was to blame except in the case of Sony. The fact that my phone and all my cables were purchased directly from Google, I am fairly confident I am fine. It only works with my 12 inch cable. Trying anything longer never works for me. This is a great option for those who only want a touch screen radio. Your phone may have to be interfaced elsewhere if you wish to use it with your phone.

It has been installed in a 2014 Subaru Forester that doesn't have The program works and looks like a genuine OEM product. I think Apple Carplay is a great addition, and the microphone is a lot better than it used to be. This radio looks much cleaner than similar radios made by other brands and has a capacitive screen, so I chose to buy it. Besides the double DIN installation kit, I needed a double slot installation kit as well.
