I've been installing car stereos for over 40 years. br>This is a great head unit for the money. br>200. 00 plus $30 for the remotebr>This is a must-have item. br>Forget about the bells and whistles and lightsbr>On any head unit, don't pay for that which you don't needbr>The highest voltage coming out of your head unit, the highest available is 5 volts, which this unit hasbr>U need the best Bluetooth available, which this unit also hasbr> br>You need a USB port on the front of your head unitbr>Alpine has thatbr>You need to be able to answer the phonebr>Alpine has that microphonebr>And everything. It also has a bass engine, which makes it the bomb.
HD149BT. My CDE-Alpine I decided to "upgrade" to this head unit because my HD149BT was failing. The first thing I noticed was that the user interface was not as user-friendly as the CDE-based interface. HD149BT. With the help of the CDE- I was able to navigate the menus and configure things quickly and easily with the HD149BT. I was able to figure it out with this newer model, but it was less intuitive. br>br>Also, there are no rear USB connectors, so if you want to connect via USB, you must use the front connector. br>br>Audio quality is excellent, but I'm giving this unit two stars because it has a seizure every time I turn it on using the bluetooth to start my car. It will play music for 2 seconds, then silence for 2 seconds, and repeat this cycle for up to a minute before "stabilizing out. " It's a real pain. I'm not sure if the unit I received was defective or if the seizure startup is a feature or by design, but it bothers me greatly!.
Pre-outs with a voltage of 5 volts are incredible. The 5V preouts are fantastic, and the BT is fantastic for playing music and taking calls. BT has incredible clarity. When I say 5V pre-amplifier, I'm not joking. It is undeniable that outs are important. After the initial installation, I took a quick video to show how clean and loud the signal is. This is a must-have head unit for you.
You can spend all the money you want on amps and speakers, but if you don't have a good signal to feed them, they'll produce sloppy sound. The presence of 5 volt preamp outputs, such as those found on this unit, is essential. If you enable NFC on your phone, the Bluetooth will work flawlessly. A CD player is also a nice addition, as CD players are becoming increasingly scarce on units these days. If you're listening to music over Bluetooth, make sure to use the highest bit rate possible. As I previously stated. There's a good signal coming in, and there's a good sound coming out as well. It has a lot of easy-to-use features. It is important to note that it DOES NOT INCLUDE A REMOTE CONTROL. It ought to at this price. If sound quality is important to you, this is a great choice; if it isn't, save some money and get a simple boss unit with Bluetooth connection. All day long, a good one can be had for less than $50. This is a high-end single DIN head unit with excellent sound quality.
To begin, I'd like to state that everything in my jeep is a 2x6 alpine. In a custom box, there are five components: a32 s series amp, s series a60 amp, and s series 12. Now, the alpine radio sounds fantastic, but prior to installing the alpine radio, I had a pioneer radio on all of the alpine speakers. The entire system is powered by two amps, and while the pioneer was louder and had a little more bass than the alpine, the alpine, despite its lower volume, sounded better. I'm going to get a newer Pioneer radio that isn't from Walmart because it has a lot more features.
The only drawback thus far is that wearing shades makes it difficult to see the screen during the day. The head unit, on the other hand, is stunning at night! I have one 12" p2, two JL 6x9's, and two infinity kappa 6's. 5's. My previous head unit was an alpine, but it was a budget model. As if it were a 169. a little something It served its purpose. The 6x9's, on the other hand, are a little more complicated. The 5's were in desperate need of a boost. When you turned up the volume on the old unit, it started to distort a lot.
MAN! The difference between this head unit and the previous one was night and day! It's crystal clear even if I turn it all the way up! It boosted the power of my subwoofer and gave my other speakers the boost they needed. It has a fantastic sound. I was blown away. There are no issues with it cutting in and out due to Bluetooth connectivity. My phone automatically connects to the unit within five seconds of starting my truck. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it.
I'm not a car stereo expert, so I can't attest to the true quality of sound this unit produces, as it's limited by the OEM units currently installed. But I can confidently say that with what I have, this unit sounds fantastic; everything works as it should, and the dim works as it should when the headlights are turned on. My only complaint so far is that my sunglasses are polarized, and I can't see the screen from my sitting position. Otherwise, everything is great. I would strongly suggest it.
