Questions & Answers

Is it an antenna or just the antenna cable, as it says there is an antenna? What type of antenna does it have, and how long does it last if it does?

It includes an antenna, but it's a wire antenna rather than a rigid one. It's about 2 1/2 feet long, but it can be adjusted.

When my motor is idling, it makes a popping sound. To fix the problem, I was considering using a resistor. Do you have any size recommendations?

Resistor sparkplugs have an "R" at the beginning of the sparkplug number, such as Rj719, and if they don't, the sparkplug number will simply be j719. I hope that this information is useful.

Will it work with radio station numbers that are even and odd? I used to have a marine radio from the United States that wouldn't tune in to stations with odd numbers?

No, I do not believe that is true. I've never been in a situation like this before.

I can't find a USB port anywhere. ?

On the back of the MCKGB350W, there is a USB port.

Condensation on the faceplate can be fixed with a little elbow grease
4/5

So, after turning it on and bench testing it for about an hour and a half, my radio fogged up. I was completely let down. But, as a professional mechanic, I dismantled it right down to the faceplate. There are approximately 18 screws in total. After drying all of the water and condensation, I used my heat gun to raise the temperature of the entire faceplate and circuitry to around 140 degrees. Then I partially closed it, but inserted a straw to act as an air duster and purged out all of the air and humidity. The air in an air duster is extremely dry. I shouldn't have any more condensation now that the weather has warmed up. I reassembled everything and bench tested it for another four hours with no condensation. Then, because I'm going to use it on a jet ski, I added an extra coat of E6000 sealant to the back where the wires pass through. It's already well-sealed, but it never hurts to add a little more. My only gripe is that this Purge should be performed by the factory. Another thing to keep in mind is that this radio was set to 170 degrees Fahrenheit. With no cooling fans and few cooling fins, I'm not sure how long this radio will last, but it survived four hours of very loud play in my garage without overheating or breaking down. As a result, I'm going to put it in place. If something goes wrong, I'll let you know. This is still functional even if it hasn't been updated. June 18th, 2020 is the date. When I install the speakers in the jetski, the sound quality is quite good. It doesn't have a lot of base on the bench, which is to be expected. Overall, I believe it will be loud enough for my needs with the entry lamp, and the sound quality will be adequate. It also fails to mention that an antenna is included. There are also 10 feet of speaker wires included in the package. It would have been nice to know before purchasing all of the extras. Oh, and there's hardware for mounting the radio and speakers as well. All of them are made of aluminum or stainless steel. It also comes with a gasket that fits behind the radio and speakers. So, hopefully, my review has been useful. If you found it useful, please mark it as such so that it can be moved to the top of the list. Thanks.

DAMAGE TO THE SCREEN DUE TO WATER
3/5

Installing, configuring, and playing the game is a breeze. Changing from radio to Bluetooth is simple. The sound quality is good for the price, but the only drawback so far is that after one wash of my boat with the unit installed, the screen has water on it. It's possible that there's been condensation. That is a disappointment, but the overall value for money is excellent. If this one fails, I'll try again with a new one, but this time I'm going to silicone or superglue all of the edges.

My only complaint is that it isn't loud enough for when my boat is moving (17ft openbow with 3l mercruiser); however, it is loud when stopped, but volume cuts out before max volume
4/5

It also gets condensation behind the screen from time to time, but this has no effect on the functionality. Bluetooth is responsive and works well. It also has subwoofer connections and excellent EQ settings. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: following the installation of a subwoofer to remove the bass from the 6. With 5 speakers, the volume has increased significantly and the volume has reached a much higher level. I haven't tried to max it out yet, but I am still very pleased with this product.

Expect to spend an additional $100-$150
4/5

Installation by a professional costs $200. Pros: Good radio with good sound and a lot of featuresbr>Cons: For the do-it-yourselfer who has never installed a stereo system in a boat or car, this is a somewhat intimidating task. After several hours of research, I was able to figure it out. br>1) There are over twenty different connections – some preinstalled pin sockets would have been useful herebr>2) The instructions are vague (fine for the pro installer). br>3) There are no templates for the radio and speaker cutouts. br>4) The installation instructions and operation print are difficult to read – a magnifying glass is a good idea here. br>5) The USB connection is rushed and appears to be an afterthought. To use, one must reach into the back and insert a USB extension cord.

Calls and emails to the manufacturer have gone unanswered
3/5

This is a Boss radio with marine-grade speakers. We followed the instructions and even put up a YouTube video to see if anyone had any issues. We turned on the system after it had been installed and it sounded great for about 5 minutes before the audio stopped. I tried turning on and off the power, as well as turning on and off the blue tooth, which displayed song, artist, and other information, but there was no sound coming from the speakers, no static, nothing. br>I tried calling the company at the listed phone number, but it only rings once and then goes to voice mail (not a good sign). I asked for a return phone call and an email, but received no response. I now have a 3 inch hole in my center console, a broken radio, and wires dangling from behind the console. If that wasn't bad enough, Trigger Fish will be available in two weeks. br>Thank you for your time, Boss.

Until the engine starts, it sounds great
3/5

This thing sounds great after installation and sitting in the boat on the trailer. The bass response is nice, and the features with the easy-to-use interface are great. Bluetooth is a good option. Then we start the engine, which produces a series of random and extremely loud POP noises. It can't be used because it's broken. I contacted BossAudio and filed a complaint. For help, go to www. com. enquiring as to how this can be resolved. They immediately instructed me on how to initiate an RMA by providing them with information that I had previously provided. After a few weeks, I'm still unable to get a response from them. Even if we send it back, they'll replace it with the same model, which will most likely have the same issue. I wish they would talk to me and figure out what's wrong. Because of this fatal flaw and poor product support, I am unable to recommend this radio.

It is effective
4/5

a couple of anomalies It performs admirably. At the start of the summer, the system was installed. Because I started with an amp, I can't vouch for the power, and the Bluetooth range is only about 6 feet. Most of the time, I just listen to music through my earphones. produces a higher output volume I have to turn it off for a few minutes if it suddenly stops producing sound. Perhaps a little too much. Is there a problem with the heating? I'm not sure if it's the unit or the amplifier that's the problem. Overall, a decent performer for the price, though we'll see how long it lasts.
