In addition to this head unit's improved wireless capabilities and compact size, I was drawn to it by its improved Android Auto support. I was able to install the unit in my Jeep Renegade with a better install kit as it has such a shallow depth so that I didn't have to cut up a bunch of plastic inside the vehicle to get an authentic look. Installing the unit was an absolute breeze since it supports the iDatalink Maestro I already had. Despite that, however. It seems like Android Auto is the first phone that starts up immediately and completely on its own (dammit Kenwood, can't you offer that in from here on, it's kind of buggy. I decided to start off by pointing out the problem with Android Auto's colors being washed out due to the brightness being excessive. Since this behavior is not occurring in my Kenwood DDX9905S, but only in this Pioneer head unit, it is not an Android Auto issue or something on the phone. The head unit is the problem. The second issue is that if wireless Android Auto is the first audio source to start on the unit, it will not play any sound.
