Questions & Answers

Is there a wiring harness included?

Hello, the system includes a pig-shaped pig-shaped pig-shaped pig-shaped pig-shaped pig You'll need a tail harness to connect to your fuse panel and run your speaker wires to so you can connect them to the very short pigtail. harness for the tail This unit was installed in the main salon of my 30 foot sailboat, which was previously unfinished. I was able to use the wires from the old stereo system I was replacing. I attached the spade connectors at home in a convenient location and then connected everything once the unit was turned on. Very easy to set up, easy to connect via Bluetooth, and the sound is fantastic. I hope you found this information to be informative.

Is there a cover included with it? or do I need to purchase it separately?

The book does not come with a cover. Fusion informed me that one would be available soon.

Is there a need for a speaker amplifier with this unit?

Even though it isn't required, I went ahead and installed one.

This is a crucial topic
3/5

While the unit functions as advertised, there is a fatal flaw that Fusion customer service has confirmed. br>br>Like a lot of people these days, I use my iPhone to play my music via Bluetooth. With the exception of the RA70, every speaker/headphone device I own allows you to adjust the volume using the phone volume buttons. The volume buttons on the iPhone X don't work with the RA70, it turns out. The company confirmed this, which renders it somewhat useless because you'll have to use their app to change the volume, but the slider won't let you change where you are in the song or story. So you'll have to go to the Apple music player or audiobook app to rewind or fast forward, which is extremely inconvenient and the company won't guarantee which phones will work. It's also risky to be driving a boat and have to go through all of these steps just to change the volume. br>br>The only solution is to switch phones or, better yet, to purchase a new head unit that actually works.

On my boat, this is the best stereo I've ever installed
5/5

This is, without a doubt, the best marine-rated stereo I've ever used. It also has larger buttons and a simpler display, which is ideal for use while I'm on the water. br>I've had several head units installed in cars and on my boat. It was a plastic plate with four stainless steel screws that mounted cleanly and easily, unlike the old aluminum slide. The unit is smaller and lighter than most, and it is clearly more water resistant than the other "marine grade" stereos I've used in the past. br>The wiring is standard for a head unit. The volume control is the only drawback I can see with this unit. It has a two-zone volume, which is ideal for boats with multiple rooms or a crow's nest. But it's just a glorified fader; on my bowrider, I have a four-speaker setup. As a result, it's a little irritating. br>I'm still giving it a five-star rating. This purchase has made me extremely happy.

This radio is one of my favorites
5/5

I adore this radio station! It has a user interface that is extremely easy to understand and use for the average person. Multiple people can connect their phones to the Bluetooth, allowing them to switch devices quickly. Even without a separate subwoofer amp, the sound is incredible. Simply solder the fusion wires to the existing harness's color-coded wires to replace an existing radio. It took me 20 minutes to solder and 10 minutes to install the console in my boat. It's a 200% improvement over the crappy Sony "Marine" radio and far easier to use. Even if your old radio is still functional, you should get this.

This radio is almost perfect, and I adore it
4/5

The Bluetooth technology is fantastic. The only thing I don't like about it is that the volume can't be controlled with the phone's side buttons. I did it once as a fluke/glitch/tease, but I haven't been able to do it since. The app is fine, but going into it and changing the volume takes longer than I'd like. It also seems a little out of date to have to perform and update on the model using a flash drive. You should be able to use the app in the same way that you would with other fusion models.

I took out my couple year old Sony because it was so complicated with all kinds of extra buttons and features that I never used on a boat, so I took it out
5/5

I liked the first one so much that I bought another for my other boat. Bluetooth is a rock-solid, dependable music source, and that's exactly what everyone wants. There are no cables, discs, or USB drives in this room. Keep things as simple as possible. Weather protection is provided by a cleverly designed weather cover.

The sound is fantastic, the features are useful, and the overall appearance is appealing
5/5

To be honest, I had never given this brand much thought before, but after speaking with someone about it, I decided to do so. I used four Kenwood KFC 1653 Marine Speakers to install this on a 26' Cobia. The sound quality completely blew me away. It's a huge improvement over what I was listening to previously. After you install the app, your phone will function as a remote control. Kids enjoy it as well because they can now easily play their music through the system - I'm not sure I feel the same way they do about it. This unit comes highly recommended by me.

Poor Wiring Harness on a Great Unit
4/5

I have two sets of speakers:br>br>I have two sets of speakers:br>br>Here is my email to Fusion Support:br>br>Here is my email to Fusion Support:br> The main cabin is located in Zone 1, and the flybridge is located in Zone 2. When connected to either set of speakers, both the Left and Right sides of Zone 2 perform admirably. br>br>The problem is with Zone 1. When the wiring harness is moved, Zone 1 Left loses connection, causing the speaker to cut in and out. The issue is with the wiring harness, because when I hook up main cabin speakers to the Zone 2 wires, they work fine, and when I hook up Zone 1 the fly bridge speakers, I get the same results: Right isn't working, and Left is cutting in and out. Is a new harness available? No. Returning the entire unit and receiving a replacement or purchasing a new wiring harness were the two options presented. As a result, I'm out another $25 for a new wiring harness and shipping. It's disappointing that such a high-quality product (the stereo is fantastic) has such a low-quality harness and even worse customer service (although the support person was extremely courteous and responsive).

Fusion is fantastic
4/5

Sony is a terrible company. It's absolutely fantastic. After one day of use, I have formed an opinion. In the last two years, I've gone through two Sony radios. Sonys are a complete disaster. It was cutting in and out, and I assumed it was due to the speakers. Invest $600 in a new set of speakers. It appeared to be a problem with the wiring. nope. The Sony stereo is a complete disaster. they're both of them This fusion appeals to me greatly. It took me ten minutes to set up and is "KISS. " It's so easy to make and looks great. Also great is the app. Love it. My new Kicker speakers are awesome now that they're powered up! Thank you very much, Sony. So far, I've been a big fan of fusion. The audio quality is better than it has ever been. Zones 1 and 2 are also two of my favorites.
