Questions & Answers

Has anyone owned this radio for at least a year? I'm curious as to how long it will last and if it has caused any problems. ?

It fit perfectly in my 2008 Street Glide, but I need to upgrade my speakers. Bluetooth works flawlessly, but radio stations are crackly, so I believe the problem is with my speakers.

What is the digital/analog BIT count?

You're riding a motorcycle, not in a soundproof room, dude.

Is the aq mp 5bt-S compatible with the aq mp 5bt-S? The same 288 W amp is built into the hRadio as it is in the aq mp 5ubt- hRadio ?

Yes, their radio power is the same, but keep in mind that this is a "Peak Number." RMS stands for root mean squared. Compared to the OEM radio's 12 watts RMS, this radio only uses 5 watts.

Is it possible to read the screen in direct sunlight?

In bright light, it's not as easy to read as any other backlit LCD display.

Selected User Reviews For Aquatic AV MP5 Replacement Radio for Harley (1998-2013 Touring Models)

There's a clock on the wall! I bought this head unit to replace the stock Harley unit on my 2013 Street Glide so that I could upgrade the audio system with Hog Tunes front speakers, saddlebag speakers, and tweeters
5/5

This unit is fantastic; it has Bluetooth, which the stock unit lacked, as well as an internal storage compartment, and it was incredibly easy to install; all you need are the rounded 1/2 inch hex key attachments to reach the four bolts that must be removed at an angle. br>br>I've read a lot of reviews, both here and elsewhere, because the radio doesn't have a clock, but it does have the option to add one to your odometer display. There is, however, a clock that cycles through your stations, song, artist, and time, as evidenced by the photos attached. I've recommended this unit to several friends and will continue to do so.

However, this is a fantastic unit
4/5

After doing some research, I discovered that this unit did not come with a clock, which was the only reason I held off on purchasing it. After looking at a few other brands, I returned to the Aquatic and decided that, for the sake of ease of installation, I could do without a clock. Surprisingly, the unit I bought AV- 5BT- H has a clock, which scrolls through the information every 30 seconds or so. br>Now, to return to the unit in question: It's a great Bluetooth system that lets you use any Bluetooth device and has much better sound than the stock unit. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that if you have an old Ipod that doesn't have bluetooth, it will only play music and you won't be able to skip songs or do anything else. br>One installation tip: when installing the unit, lubricate the rubber seal that goes through the inner fairing so it slides in more easily. Tip #2: Tighten the mounting bolts only to the point where they are snug, then put the faceplate on to ensure there is enough room. Because it'd be a pain if you had to remove the fairing again to get the face plate to fit properly. br>All I have to say about this unit is that if you have a Streetglide and only need two speakers, it's a plug-and-play unit that will knock your socks off.

Make sure you have plenty of extra zip ties on hand because you'll need to cut a few to gain better access
5/5

As previously stated in other posts. The installation of this deck on a 2012 Ultra Classic Electra Glide was a breeze. The most difficult part was removing the four mounting screws that hold the deck to the stock bracket (you'll need a shallow 90-degree hex set for this). Also, make sure you have some extra zip ties on hand because you'll need to cut a few to gain access. After removing my factory deck, a magical clock appeared in my odometer after a few miles of riding (picture added), as mentioned in other posts. Although the stereo sounds fantastic, I can't compare it to the original because I also replaced the stock speakers with Hog Tunes. The new sound quality is noticeably superior to that of the original deck and speakers. Bluetooth works flawlessly, and the storage compartment behind the faceplate is enormous! It was a perfect fit for my Samsung Note5. All of the handlebar controls function properly, and I don't believe there are any technical issues with this setup. If you want to add Bluetooth music capability to your touring bike, I would highly recommend this deck.

If you enjoy listening to a good radio while riding, think twice! Oh my goodness, what a letdown! This may come across as harsh, but if I can save just one person from a major disappointment, then so be it
3/5

br>br>Pros (Very Little)br>Comes in a nice box and is well packagedbr>br>Consbr>Faceplate will not attach to the unit without a lot of forcebr>br>Consbr> It was so bad that I thought I'd never take it off again because getting it back on was so difficult. br>br>The aux cord and USB are located in the glove box. This is a complete farce. There's barely enough space for a phone, let alone one with an aux input. Only use the USB to charge your device. Really? In what year do we find ourselves? br>br>Installation is as simple as plugging in and playing. If you have rear speakers, however, this isn't the case. They do come with a harness, so you can do a shoddy job with the back speakers. The deciding factor. br>br> It doesn't even come close to producing the advertised rated output, and it sends out a dirty signal that causes all kinds of distortion at riding power. It sounds like S* to me. I even tried hooking up an amp, but the signal it produces is far too dirty to play loud and clear. br>br>The cost of this bare-bones unit is far too high. I would not pay $50 for this radio if I knew what I know now! After removing and returning this joke, I installed the following: br>br>

Awesome ! 10 STARS
5/5

I just installed this fantastic, beautiful radio in my 2011 Ultra Classic, and I'm very happy with it. It's a real treat to be able to operate the hand controls. It even has control over the songs I want to listen to on my old iPhone, which I use as an ipod. Digital music is what I listen to the most. It was a breeze to put everything together! The four bolts are causing a ruckus among the locals! It's not a major issue. The bolts are placed in place using your figure tips, and then the wrench is used to secure them. There's a lot of space. It's not the most pleasant job in the world, but that's life! The seal allows it to fit perfectly and snugly. I'd rather have a small space around the unit than a large one. Connect it to your computer and get to work! Four Cerwin Vega 6 RCA outputs to an amplifier For me, it needs to be clear, audible, and powerful. From the time I was a young man, I grew up in a Nakamichi world. Although I can't find a Nakamichi dealer in Florida, this is a product that not many people are aware of due to its high cost. A good crossover and multiple amps are required for true sub bass, mids, and highs. I wasn't going to blow a lot of money now that I'm older. I was just looking for a way to upgrade my music system. This head unit comes highly recommended by me to anyone looking for a Harley-Davidson compatible aftermarket radio.
