Questions & Answers

Is it possible to make the colors cycle?

You can change the color of the display and buttons independently, but there is no psychedelic mode.

Is there an RCA input for a subwoofer or amplifier?

That's correct. There are two speaker amps and one subwoofer amp outputs on the board.

Will this fit in a Ford Mustang from the year 2000?

Yes, it is possible to squeeze it in. You'll need parts to install this or any other aftermarket radio if you're replacing your factory radio.

Is there enough power in the speakers to run without an amp?

Yes, I believe it is 25 watts per channel x 4 channels; I used it to power my front and rear speakers because I don't have a subwoofer. For my setup, the head unit produces clear audio with good bass.

Selected User Reviews For Alpine UTE-73BT Advanced Bluetooth Mech-Less Digital Media Receiver (Does not Play CDs)

A fantastic media player on a shoestring budget
5/5

CDs are almost never played these days. Almost everything you see or hear is streamed or saved to your phone. For me, this was the ideal upgrade. There's no need to use a Bluetooth FM transmitter any longer. With the windows down, even phone calls are clear.

Alpine has let you down! There have been far too many Alpine head units for me to mention
3/5

My most recent purchase was six years ago, and it was installed in my boat. The source button stopped working last week, and neither the sound nor the functions are functional. I made the decision to purchase this unit and replaced the old one with it. The power was turned on after the connections were made. Nothing! DOA! It was necessary to uninstall and repackage everything before returning it. Now I must await the arrival of another unit. What a letdown!.

It really does make a difference
5/5

I had previously ordered a JVC head unit, which had broken due to a faulty charger that I plugged into the radio (my fault, but the radio should have had more protections against such instances), so I decided to go with my trusted brand Alpine, even though I had already replaced my factory speakers with Alpine components and was still temporarily using the factory HU. The difference that was made after a simple installation was amazing. Even though the speakers are severely underpowered due to my lack of an amp (coming soon), the sound is crystal clear and the bass functions sound fantastic. ) I think Alpine makes some of the best sound systems I've ever heard, and dealing with the seller was also a pleasure.

Bluetooth disconnects from time to time
3/5

For about a month or two, everything was fine, but then the bluetooth stopped connecting or disconnected at random. The part that irritates me the most is when it stutters (play-by-play). pause- play- pause- play- pause. I have to turn off the car and power cycle the head unit to get it to work (you get it) until I disconnect and reconnect manually. The sound is fantastic, and the audio controls are excellent, but Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, The docking 3 begins solely because of the Bluetooth (This head unit was purchased specifically for use with Bluetooth). )br>br>And yes, I have double-checked that it is the head unit. I checked all of the wiring and tried several other phones that ran different versions of BT. I'm an electronic engineer, so I made sure everything was in working order.

It's a hit-or-miss situation when it comes to Bluetooth
3/5

For a low-cost head unit, this is quite impressive. It's hit-or-miss when it comes to Bluetooth autoconnect. Plus, if you have two phones stored in the head unit and one is playing music while the other is receiving a call, the two phones will automatically connect. As a result, the only way to get around it is to only have one phone saved on the radio. Alternatively, the second phone's Bluetooth may have been turned off.

Alpine is the best; I've always been a fan of their products, and this receiver is fantastic! I like that I can customize the lighting with different colors and that it has a brightness level
5/5

I had to do a lot of customizing in order to get this receiver to fit in my 1985 Chevy K10. br>br>Update 11/17/20br>I love this deck so much that I purchased a second one for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler.

This is not a unit to be overlooked
5/5

Two years ago, I bought a double Din stereo for $350. It didn't last long, and I couldn't get it to connect with my phone. Even if it had a lot of features, it was useless if it couldn't connect; nowadays, our phones advance so quickly that our head units become obsolete in a year or two. Because they are two separate entities, no one is to blame. This time, I returned to a single Din who was willing to "downgrade. " The only thing I didn't get was a backup camera and a sound equilizer with more options. This unit provided better sound for the price I paid, and I would recommend it. br>When I was 18, I bought my first stereo, an Alpine, and I haven't been disappointed since. I'm not sure what made me change my mind. With this one, I've had three stereos, the first two of which are still in use as hand-me-downs. br>As much as I enjoy Bluetooth and hands-free calling, I'm going hardwire because Bluetooth isn't good enough for high-quality audio. I did some research, and if you're looking for that high-end look, You'll have to spend $600 for hi-fi sound, which I'm fine with. I'm going to use my phone's speaker. br>br>It was crystal clear when I used the BT in call feature, and my cousin said he could hear everything. Alpine claims it has a clear sound, which I agree with. It's possible that it's because of the location in which I put it. In any case, we're in a good spot because the developers are finally grasping our requirements at every level. br>I adore this head unit and cannot give it less than five stars.

This is the unit to get if you're looking for something under $100
5/5

Don't squander your cash on anything less than the best. First, I bought a Nakamichi unit that turned out to be a complete dud. It was a half-finished toy that reminded me of a Fisher-Price toy. Before Amazon steered me to the wrong unit, I should've purchased the Apline unit as intended. As a result, I returned the Nakamichi and purchased the Alpine, which made me extremely happy. a tenfold improvement Solid. The menu options are ideal. Alpine quality when it comes to accessibility and ergonomics. Yes. Much worse than units from eight years ago, but still better than other options for the same price; I have a 2012 unit that does everything this does, but it feels much higher quality. br>br>The best thing about the Alpine unit is that you don't accidentally go to a menu option because the very large knob is easy to hit/press. Let's say I'm driving through a drive-through and want to turn down the volume. I have JVC and Pioneer units. I'll accidentally press a button that takes me to an interface menu, and now I'm scrolling through menus instead of adjusting volume, all while trying to order food. Alpine anticipated this, so pressing the knob does nothing until you press another button to enter a menu. That is exactly how it should be. It's the little things like this that make it so enjoyable. So this powers four speakers in my car, and the volume is fine; obviously, I can't hear it at highway speeds with the windows down, but that's to be expected with any standard head unit. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
