Questions & Answers

Is this power and ground an amp4 or an 8 awg?

Both the power and ground connections are 4 awg. I'm using 8 awg wire and it's working great, though I'm not running it at maximum gain. It's only being used to power one 10" L7!

Is there a way to turn this amp on automatically so I don't have to use a remote?

Another option that I chose because it requires a turn-on signal is to use a retained accessory power relay or a simple relay. Because you'll be removing side panels to run RCA anyway, you can easily tap into a 12v power source when the vehicle's air conditioning is turned on, which can be found closest to the amp position and is already passing to the back of the vehicle. This is a Radio Shack one that I used. Model: 275- Catalog No. 233: 0 = 2750233 AT 12VDC, AMP SPST REED RELAY This configuration should be used to turn on multiple amps while also relieving the head unit circuit. There's also no need for a teeny-tiny wire. However, if this wire is simply connected to RCA prior to installation for a 1 amp installation, this is the simplest method. Remember to fuse the relay to protect the head unit circuit if you use it.

Is there a way to connect this amp to a factory head unit via high (speaker) level inputs?

I apologize for the lateness of this message, but it may be of assistance to others. Yes, and you can connect to the signal via the rear speaker wires. A sub woofer can be used due to the built-in crossover. The only disadvantage of this setup is that lowering the bass on the head unit for doors and other purposes also lowers the bass on the sub amp. For a more balanced and adjustable sound, a built-in HU crossover is preferable. However, this will necessitate a HU upgrade. Even if your input capability is limited, a line output converter is a viable option. This, in my opinion, results in a cleaner installation. In the end, it's a doable task. It's also a good amp. The birthsheet has a power rating of 648 watts @ 2 ohm 14. Using the amp draw and voltage formula, I averaged 629 in my vehicle at idle in real life. I also own the P300-A. 1 has a real-life wattage of around 415 @ 2 ohm. A total of 426 people are listed on the birth sheet. That one has been banging in my wife's ride for years with no issues, and the new one has been rocking in my ride so far. Love these amps. They have a lot of power for their size, and because they're D-class amps, they're efficient and put less strain on the vehicle's power system. If you run some high-power AB amps for a few years, you'll be putting a lot of strain on your alternator and battery, shortening their lives. There is also less light dimming.

Is the remote included with the R500x1D, or does it have to be purchased separately?

It also comes with a remote control. I assumed it didn't, so I purchased one, which came with it already, so I now have two.

This item was purchased as part of my new sound system for my car, and it makes my two 12 inch subs hit hard
5/5

It's fantastic. . . The R500X1D Prime amp elevates my Fosgate P1-X to a whole new level. Installed with an AudioControl LC2i LOC, 2X12 subs make a big impact. Subs, AMP, and LOC are all in perfect harmony. Rockford Fosgate is a brand that you can't go wrong with. In a 2018 Honda Civic EX sedan, I installed this.

It comes with a birth sheet that is always going to be more than 500 Watts
5/5

According to the amp's birth sheet, it has a power rating of 638 Watts. And, unless your car is an older model, you'll get almost all of the Watts listed on the birth certificate. I'm not sure why, but RF undervalues their amplifiers, but having more Watts is always preferable! And someone said the birth sheet is incorrect in a review!! Your lights will not dim as long as you have a newer battery and a working alternator! This amp has exceeded my expectations! My two 12s have a combined RMS power of 600 Watts, which is more than enough! So, whatever the Birth sheet says, it's being pushed? My 12s RMS was 150, which means that they were pushing 150 watts when set to 2 ohms. That's why I'm only using half of the gain because it's pushing over 600 Watts. The birth sheet is correct, don't forget, and it's not 500 like the box stated. I've never purchased an RF amplifier before, but I'm glad I did when I came across this one! I'd give it a ten out of ten rating! It's well worth the money, and there aren't that many pennies for an underrated amp that's going to put out more than 600 watts anyway!.

Spouse of an Audiophile in a Car- My husband bought this for his Civic's subwoofer because it was approved, powerful, and compact
5/5

Please note the following disclaimer: I'm completely clueless when it comes to automobile audio. Because I've been married to a car audiophile for 16 years, I only have a rudimentary understanding of "car audio. " I have even less understanding of what this amplifier does, but I am familiar with the brand name. In terms of my personal opinion, I like that it isn't a huge, obnoxious 3-D model. foot, 50- lb item that may be installed, then removed, and then left in my garage. or, heaven forbid, under my BED for YEARS before being hauled out and stuffed into another trunk. What exactly am I referring to? I've never experienced anything like that before. I don't know how many times I've heard it, but it's like I'm getting off track here. My husband asked me to review it for him, but because I don't know much about it, I just asked him, "OK, do you like it?" " He claims to be able to do so. He likes how compact it is and how powerful it is, as it allows him to get good results out of his sub. I like that it didn't take him a long time to put it together, and that because of its size, I didn't have to help hold or lift anything. Everyone comes out on top. Vote is now closed, so you can focus on your audio. Even if your loving spouse removes it, you can store it somewhere where your cats won't nest on it and no one will ask what "that thing" sitting over there is.

a fantastic amplifier I really like this amp and would recommend it to anyone looking for great bass with a stock radio and auto electric system
5/5

It pushes 300 watts RMS @ 4 ohms / 500 watts RMS @ 2 ohms, and only uses 25 avrg- I flipping love it! 50 max amps of your car's electrical production (stock alternator should suffice) This is simply a suggestion. Toss in a dsp (digital signal processor), tune it, and enjoy it! br>It already has a high-frequency input, as well as an RCA input and a pass-through to feed signal to other amplifiers. The amp is well-designed and includes a bass knob, unless your subwoofers require it. This is your bass amp, so add more rms.

At a low price, you can get good clean power! This amp is driving a JL audio HO 110 RG W3v3 through a JL audio HO 110 RG W3v3
5/5

It now works exactly as it should. I had a Power Acoustik 2500D that would cut out on heavy or fast Bass notes due to a lack of reserve power. This amplifier has a lot of heft to it. I made use of a Multi-Functional Computer (MFC). It sounded great after using the gain meter to properly set the gain. Then I plugged in the Bass knob, and even after turning it halfway up, the Bass was not hitting. I increased the gain to 5 and it started working again? I'm using the high level inputs and was surprised there was no auto turn on; I had to run a remote wire; I assume the fuses are internal because there aren't any external fuses?.

Really, it should have cost a lot more
5/5

Nice amp, probably one of the best bang for your buck models available. This is for you if you have a moderate system and enjoy good clean bass; if you want to shake the neighborhood, this isn't for you. br>Installation was simple, but setup took a little time to get it exactly where I wanted it. The included remote knob is a nice touch, as most other brands charge extra for one. Not running anything fancy, just one 10 at 2 ohms and the birth sheet said 635w, so what's not to like about an extra 135w, that's more than my stock "infinity system" JBL amp sent to the factory sub, paired with a pioneer shallow mount freeair 10 so not the ideal setup and the amp is double what the sub can handle so I can upgrade or go with a harder hitting box down the road, options and future upgrades are nice. br>Update 9 19br>Upgraded to a much better sub, a 12" ported box rated at 600rms, and this little amp makes it pound with ease, and it's a very decent sub, I'm still blown away how good these amps are in this price range, I'm about to replace my budget 4channel amp with the p400 4d next week and can't wait to hear how much better it will sound, big kudos to RF for producing.
