Questions & Answers

I'd like to put this on my bike, but is it approved for marine use?

This must be installed in a dry environment. I keep mine inside the fairing of my Streetglide, on top of my radio, and I've had no problems with it! There are a few aftermarket brackets that work great for mounting it there!

I'm considering buying this amp to power two infinity kapa 6s. Will I need to have my infotainment system flashed if I have 5" speakers on my 2016 road glide?

Yes, you do, according to all of my research on the subject. You can also buy a Cyclesounds Magic Box, which flattens the signal from your Boombox and eliminates the need to flash. However, act quickly because it appears that they have ceased production.

I have a Kenwood in my 13 Roadglide, and I recently ordered some Infinity Kappas 6. How well will this amp perform in comparison to a specific Vega B52?

I haven't tried the CV b52, so I can't make a comparison. The RF isn't the most powerful amplifier available. However, it is not bad value for money. It's extremely hot when it's running. I've never had a problem with it, but the fact that it's in the fairing worries me.

Is there a way to find out what this amp's RMS is? It's possible I'll run it on two 6x9 Infinities. Thoughts. Is there a problem with this amp overheating? Thanks! ?

At 4 ohm, the RMS is 100, while at 2 ohm, it's 150. It's a stable amp with a 2 ohm load. I'm using it in the fairing of my Harley and haven't had any problems with heat.

For your Harley Road Glide, the best amplifier is
5/5

Don't second-guess yourself about getting this amp; just do it. Installed on my 2016 Road Glide, I looked around and did some research and determined that this was the best value for money. After removing the headlight, this fit right under the stock radio. I also replaced the stock speakers with Polk's because I didn't want to spend the money on Focal's or Hertz speakers. br>br>As you may be aware, the stock system on the 2015-2016 fiscal year STUCK 16 Harley Davidson. I could hear about 45 mph with a taller shield, and I improved the speakers, but it was still not up to par. br>br>If you install this amp in your Glide, you will not be disappointed. br>br>I can't believe how loud and clear it is with just the two front speakers after adjusting the gain, and I was considering getting the four channel sister amp because I was thinking about installing bag speakers at some point, but I don't think I need rear speakers. br>br>I watched some videos on how to remove the fairing and one of them showed how to install a Kenwood amp and he spliced into a wire to get power, which is probably fine, but the instructions on this amp said to run a power wire straight from the battery, which I did. I did find a switched 12v that wasn't being used and was able to splice that for the amp remote, it took me about four hours to complete this project br>br>Oh, and I bought a DSP line-level shifter (Magic Box) which, according to what I've read, is required on newer Harley systems, and it worked fine with no spicing of the stock unit's speak connectors. br>br>So the speakers were $135, the amp was $152, and the magic box was $70, for a total of $357 less than upgrading through Harley, and I doubt it would sound anywhere near as good. br>br>I hope this information is useful for everyone in 2015-2016. There are 16 glides total.

I replaced the plug and, just to be safe, taped the new one's end
5/5

This is a fantastic little amp. In my HD Street Glide, I have this amp paired with Alpine spr 60 coaxial speakers, and I am very pleased with the sound quality. This amplifier has been reported to run hot and overheat by some users. I bought the Rockford heat sink mount that sits on top of the factory HD radio and have had no problems with overheating, though I did have a problem with the Molex connection on the amp's output side. After a few months on the bike, it developed a short, causing one of the speakers to crackle. I figured it out after several hours of tracing wires. I replaced the plug and, just to be safe, taped the new one's end. br>br>This is a fantastic little amp. For a motorcycle application, it is, in my opinion, the best amp for the money. If you want to spend more money, there are better amps and systems available, but why would you?.

With the available mount, it fits the 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero perfectly
5/5

This is what I put on my 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero. On Amazon, I purchased the Kustom cycle parts Kawasaki Vaquero Amp Mount for Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2br>as well as the Fosgate equilizer. It was well worth the money. It sounds great, is simple to tune, and is small enough to fit under the fairing while still providing adequate cooling. The electrical wiring is a little difficult, but the instructions are excellent. There is also a wealth of information available on how to set up and tune this amplifier.

I put in half a song's worth of effort
3/5

This AMP was purchased. I put it in place. It is very simple to set up. It sounded great when I turned it on. My car would not start after I reassembled it. When I called RF, I received the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was told that I would have to deal with Amazon or the vendor who sold it to me. We couldn't be of assistance. I didn't give a damn, I just wanted to get off the phone. I would have exchanged it for the same amp, but after dealing with their customer service, I don't think they would be much help if I had an issue down the road. br>br>Had to buy another one because nothing else seemed to compare. I was hoping it was just a bad day for me. I put the other one in and it worked perfectly. My 2003 Electra Glide was a blast to ride until it died after three months. This was the second time I'd done it. Outside of Amazon's warranty, RF says I should track down who sold it to me and deal with them.

Although it appeared to be very impressive at first, it eventually began to fade
3/5

The effect was initially impressive, but it began to fade in and out. Since it's mounted on my 2015 road glide fearing, I'll assume it gets plenty of air circulation. It should be equipped with a cooling fan. The point is that they are aware of the product's quality and have chosen to be deceitful.

On a Harley StreetGlide, this is incredible
5/5

Nice amp. LOUD! It's connected to a pair of Focal speakers in my 2016 StreetGlide, and it puts out too much power, so I turned it down to about 1/2 and set it for high pass with a 100Hz cut. That's fantastic! br>It is highly recommended. It will outperform most higher-priced amplifiers!.

The product is satisfactory, but there are a few flaws
4/5

(The first half of my review is devoted to my 1-star rating. ) My issue is NOT with the product itself, despite the fact that it has failed within the warranty period. My problem is that I can't seem to find a way to fix the problem. Amazon was where I bought it. The seller was Amazon, not a third-party seller through Amazon. Rockford Fosgate will only honor warranty service if the product was purchased from the original seller, which they stated was NOT Amazon. Upon further investigation, I discovered that when Amazon runs out of stock, they frequently buy from other third parties. Normally, this isn't an issue UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR WARRANTY TO BE HONORED! Therefore, BEWARE. I've been an Amazon customer for a long time and will continue to be, but I'm thinking about making some larger purchases where the warranty from other sellers is important. For example, if I need high-end camera equipment, I won't buy it from Amazon; instead, I'll go to bhphotovideo. com (which is very reputable). Rockford Fosgate, on the other hand, was extremely helpful, but they were unable to honor the warranty due to Amazon's handling of the transaction. br>br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. They offered to replace or refund my items shortly after I contacted Amazon customer service again (within an hour). As a result, I'm revising my rating, but I'll reiterate that Rockford Fosgate was extremely helpful and willing to service the unit, so they still get 5 stars. Units can fail at any time. It just so happens. They handled the situation admirably, and Amazon can now say the same. I've been a happy customer for a long time.
