Questions & Answers
Yes, it appears to be a viable option.
Yes, the amp will only need to provide a small amount of power.
No, because I had a 2400w and it said 2400w but it was only pushing 900w, so I called Planet Audio and that's what they told me, so I sent it back and exchanged it for a audio pipe 2100 for my highs and a Nother audio pipe 1500 for my base, so it's up to you whether you keep it. The other reason I said that is because it kept going into protection mode.

Perhaps I struck it lucky and got some that work. OR, alternatively, all of the negative reviews are fictitious! My 15"s kick harder with these amps than with my single 5000 watt amp. Two 3000 watt amps are available to me. At red lights, they make my subs shake their cars. It's absolutely amazing. These amplifiers appear to be fantastic. All of my speaker wiring is currently being replaced. With these amps, I'd suggest getting the Surge Flo series. The amps are fantastic.
Last year, I got this on Black Friday for a great price, and it's fantastic. 3000 watts is a lot of power. At 1 ohm, maybe 300 watts max. It's a good beginner amp (I gave it to my sister for her car because she only listens to baby bass). It also does not appear to be very clean. Even at 2 ohms for my sister's 10" Rockford Prime I don't know how many times I changed the settings in an attempt to make it sound better, but it just doesn't work. At the very least, it looks cool with the blue lighting, but for this price, you can get better deals on amps with far more power RMS, or save up a little more and get at least a brand name amp that actually pushes its rated rms wattage so you don't end up wasting a lot of money on budget amps hoping to get the best bang for your buck.
For a long time, I've wanted to try a class D amplifier but wasn't sure which one to get. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with Planet Audio's offerings. I was skeptical at first, but after using this amp in conjunction with a Planet Audio 2 farad capacitor, I blew out the back of my speaker box. Yes, it was a cheap box, but it was still impressive; I'm running one 12" dvc 750 watt rms audiopipe double stack sub through it, and it sounds fantastic. I strongly advise it.
"It only puts out so much rms power" is something I'm not sure about. Look at how far this amp can push my subs. It's wired down to 1 ohm, and it pounds like a baby! To be honest, I believe it was well worth the investment.
For a few weeks, it was fine, but then it stopped working. I'm not going to purchase another. There are higher-quality amplifiers available that will last more than a few weeks. When you call customer service, you're treated as if there's a problem with the installation or your vehicle. I'm well aware of what I'm doing, and I'm well aware that they're taking advantage of you. I've been working with them for about a month and have yet to resolve the issue. I just wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't worth it.
This is connected to my Kenwood head unit, and two - My 2001 Buick Century has 12'' Kicker subwoofers that knock hard, vibrate the mirrors, and rattle the trunk. This amp exceeded my expectations for the price.
1ohm stable and a well-known brand. I would purchase this item again in the future. It isn't the best, but it isn't cheap like Dual or Rockwell!.
I have a 12" Planet Audio Anarchy series sub in a 2002 Duramax with crew cab, and it sounds fantastic.
