Questions & Answers

Can this be used with Pyle's 2 12'' PLBW124 1,200-volt What is the power of a DVC subwoofer?

It is true that I am running two copies of the PLBW12 This amplifier can drive 1600 watts at 4 ohms, coupled with a pair of DVC subs in series I configured it in parallel wiring so that it is stable at four ohms and sounds spectacular.

Is this amp capable of running two Kenwood KFC-type radios This is the w3016ps 12-inch ?

With 2 speakers, I estimate that the two of them will produce a combined 1200 on a good day, which is 800 less than what I estimate from 2

If I'm using my factory stereo, should I look into a high/low converter specifically for this amplifier? Do you have a favorite?

To power my factory radio, I used the PAC line output converter by tapping the wiring going to my rear right and rear left speakers. RCA cables are then run from the output converter to the amplifier

The True RMS Power Measurements of the AR1500M have been revealed
3/5

Now, I'm sure this amp puts out a lot of power. Can you let me know how many watts it actually has? There are no prices listed on Amazon for this item, and even Amazon's description refers to its RMS horsepower as "1150 watts". This amp has a 30A fuse, so if we apply the normal 10x math, we would expect it to max out at 300W There is 350 watts of power. A D'Amore Engineering amplifier Dyno AD-90 is attached to my SMD/DMD electronic device. We have tested more than 150 amplifiers since day 1 and have measured almost 600 watts. Following is the result of the Amp Dyno run of the AR1500M (all values are in RMS Power) A -4 Ohm impedance is used. The 40Hz tone is followed by 40Hz A power output of 113 watts at 14. You may view the full video showing these results and The Boss AR1500M Amp Dyno should appear under the BigDWiz channel if you search for it. Keeping these amplifier manufacturers honest is the best thing we can do!.

It overheats and has a too high rms power rating
3/5

Let me begin with the positives
- *The amp looks very good and is made of metal. The amp is a two channel amp, so if you need to connect 2 pairs of wires, or you need to bridge two, that is nice. Otherwise, the amp is bridgeable
- With this device you can adjust the bass by turning the knob. The good thing is that it is cheap, but the bad thing is- To begin with, the screw holes on the brackets for mounting the ground and power cables are too small to accommodate typical 4 gauge ring connectors (the plastic dividers take up too much space)
- Overheating issues with this amp are major it can usually run my subs only 25 minutes before it shuts off and restarts, and then it shuts off again after 5 minutes. (Power source tested and solid ground points) My amp was used during this summer when temperatures over 95F-days and 85F-nights were common in Texas, so it could have occurred either way, even though the amp was being exposed to the cabin air conditioning Although the 800W peak @ 2ohm x 2 channel amp can handle my 400w @ 2ohm x 2 subs for half an hour, it cannot handle my bass heavy music. I'm sorry. An amp dyno test of a similar amp (BOSS 1500w Monoblock) shows that the 1125w RMS mono amp can only output about 300W rms, and even goes into a Protect mode at 251W. As the amp listed at only 100w rms, I'd hate to see what it can be capable of.

In conclusion, the amp is overrated in power, will probably overheat, and will may damage your speakers as it will clip. The Pioneer GM-100 should be your first choice It also doesn't overheat like the Boss Audio and it's only $170, so I would recommend this over the Boss Audio if your speakers are under 1200w peak. It matches the claimed 1200 rms output with 1700w peak. In other words, for $100 more you can save your speakers from clipping damage while still getting top performance out of your subwoofers.

Here is a 200 Watt RMS wattage at 2 ohms for your information
5/5

In order to upgrade the audio system on my 2009 Honda Fit, I was looking for a small upgrade. Bass was not something I was looking for simply something to fill the low end. Despite there being only one amp, this one provided a lot more than was needed. There were reviews and amp dyno results showing this amp outputs 200 Watts RMS at 2 ohms, so I just looked that up. With a stock factory sound system, there is more than enough volume. The sound quality is fairly good, the volume can be turned up excessively loud (I've already had a neighbor complain lol) and the setup is simple. However, it would benefit from being able to use a subsonic control system for those using a ported box over a sealed one. In my current setup, I'm driving a Rockford Fosgate R2D2 10" Prime sub in a Bbox ported enclosure with this amp. All in all, a great amplifier at a great price!.

Two high-end subs won't be pushed, but one
4/5

My amp has lasted about four years, so it is reasonably durable. I don't have to discuss ohms(-2 . There is one clear fact, however Its 1200W maximum output means, in my mind, it continuously pushes 500W. In such a case, two inferior subs will be pushed into the 250-250 range The power output is 300 watts continuous. It accomplishes that task rather well, as I use it to push one Kicker compR cw122 that is capable of performing 1000w max and 500w rms. Clean bass, although I am not confident that it can work well when pushed by two woofers at the same time. To summarize, if you want a good sound and a rattle in your trunk, fewer subs, or just a couple of good ones, will do.

There is no doubt that the specs on this device are overrated
3/5

The best thing to say is the right thing Obviously, it isn't trash, but its performance is way below what I expected! I used it to drive two JBL CS1214 12" subwoofers rated at 1000W each, with 250RMS output. After 20 minutes, protection mode would start due to overheating of the AMP. Although it is an attractive price point, it has far too high specs for its price. The company is a budget/generic supplier with average performance and a budget/generic price point. This is a perfect example of the saying, "you get what you pay for. ".
