I find it to be very useful. My husband and I used it at the beach this past A very safe feeling once the initial awe wears off (after the first time you try it). Easy attachment and very secure. Snapped some cool videos and it could easily be tucked away in my pocket when not in use.
This accessory is necessary if you'd like to make "bullet time" videos with the Insta360 camera. I like the effects, and the attachments are secure. I can easily put this into my pocket. I prefer it to bullet time selfie sticks since it is far less fiddly.
Although I still like the older version, I don't mind if the new one comes out. There is a smaller version available here, but I am not sure if it will hold the camera well.
In fact, I don't like the features at all.
