Selected User Reviews For SMALLRIG Top NATO Handle - Camera Cheese Handle with NATO Rail and Locating Pins for RED Camera and Other Devices -1961
As well as using it with my RED Raven, I have also used it with the DSMC2 6K weapon. With the 7" it is the perfect fit for your hand and allows you to monitor your monitor at the same time. Despite the fact it has a lot of play in it when you're holding a rig with a heavier construction, I find it to be an excellent handle overall. Having a heavy cine lens, matte box and so forth, the handle will give a bit of resistance There is a few millimeters of clearance where the rail clamps to the NATO rail. As far as I can tell, the thumb screw on my Leatherman was not loose, but that's not the reason. The breaking point or giving point is unknown to me, and I do not want to know it by experience. The handle is quite difficult for me to hold while holding the camera. It would be great to see this handle in a solid, bolt-on version. As for me, I don't need the handle to come off quickly. If I pack it for a flight or something like that, I can simply pull it off with the As far as I am concerned, I cannot use the NATO rail. Having that rail would simply make my crew and I feel safer while carrying the heavier RED equipment without having to worry about Also, there is no reason that a bolt-on version would not make the handle even lower profile, which would be preferred by users of the 4 series. Screens that are 7 inches wide.
The Smallrig top handle is a well-crafted, well-finished item like most of their products. There are many products available to the "average consumer" that are simply too small for my hands. I admit, I have larger hands, however I find similar issues with many of such products. I would buy this top grip without a second thought should Smallrig make one in a larger size.
The device is extremely robust and compact, while fitting perfectly in the hand. This is exactly what I wanted. I can't imagine how it could be improved upon.
It's a great handle for my RED Epic- it looks great and it's tough in the field. I like the fact that it can be easily slid off when packing up equipment, or when rotating the handle. As you put the camera away, there is no need to screw or unscrew the handle. A handle may hinder the 4 if it is in the way. A 7" RED monitor needs only to be rotated. It can be handled easily by removing the handle. RED DSMC2 Universal Handle has an extra finger grip that feels better than the one on this handle.
I've been using this on my RED Epic Dragon and it's I find it easy to slide on the handle and lock into place, and the construction is excellent. This is a cheaper alternative that will save you money.
It could be thicker and longer, other than that it is fine.
This is a very useful tool. This device is cheap enough to make it acceptable that it gets in the way in some configurations.
I like it.
