Once set up, you will have no problems with it. However, you have to put it together and take it apart every time you want to put it in your satchel or backpack for a hike. There is always something new to build or something to deconstruct. I mean every single bit of it. As far as we can tell, it's not possible to fold it down, and even the sunshade won't fold if it's still attached to the support. This kind of phone holder does not do its job well. The two places on the belt to tighten it are also convenient. There is only a smooth plastic ring right where the phone/sunshade section is and no shape or texture to make it easier to grip. In what state of mind were they? As long as you intend to take your drone only to a place where you won't have to carry it around and you don't mind carrying this controller / phone holder setup around your neck while you move about, then I would say it might be suitable for you. The reason I gave it three stars is because I found it useful. If not, follow these instructions.
The holder fits nicely into the controllers for the Mavic Air 2 and the Mavic Mini. My son's iPhone 8+ and my iPhone 11 fit in well and I wasn't sure about using the plastic holder with my iPhone 11, but it was just fine with them. You might want to consider ordering an extension cord for connecting your phone to the controller since the controller is designed to work with a phone.
