This is my first time using foam, and it has been quiet when I used it. It has a very nice layer of fabric covering the foam. Having this pad with the rails clamped on top elevates the camera a bit more than if the rails were cleated to a flat piece of foam. The pad is a great buy for the price, and I prefer it over Zacuto, because it is more comfortable and
You're right there are ratcheting thumb screws on this shoulder pad.
Thanks for stopping by, but this shoulder pad doesn't have a weight counter. The weight capacity is 15 pounds, however
There is no doubt that the pad will be very comfortable for you.

As with most products from SmallRig, great build quality. While the gel shoulder pad is a bit stiffer than I expected, it is still more comfortable than the foam rubber shoulder pads I have used before. In addition to the mounting holes on the cheese plate, the rod connections on the 19mm material are good. It is largely a matter of trial and error to determine how well this will fit with your camera and other components. There are certain cameras that can be mounted on a shoulder rig while others cannot. The situation is not as bad as it seems. My Panasonic GH5 and Sony FS5 cameras are connected to this. As shoulder cameras they are not great since neither has an EVF for viewing when the camera is positioned to one side. I have been able to work around this by using a 5 inch Black Magic Video Assist monitor, but a real EVF would be excellent. With shoulder rigs, the other problem is getting all the parts balanced so as not to fatigue the arms. There is a heavy V-shaped adjustment I make I have mounted the battery on the back of the shoulder pad to offset the weight of the camera, and it has worked There are others who use a metal weight in the same way.
Overall, this is an excellent product that is pretty affordable. If you can make it fit with your camera and shoulder rig components, you should be happy with it.
You can sort of feel it sit on your shoulder and is off balance. Though the concept and idea may sound good on paper, I personally don't believe it is suitable for long-term shooting. For a television show I produce, I record real estate and lifestyle segments. At any time I adjust the rig on my shoulder I have to stabilize some of the footage. I don't like the way this is You should have a curved pad on the shoulder to stabilize the camera and fit better on your shoulder. The only stabilization there is is a cushion and a support, which help some. My goal is to sell this tool for whatever money I can expect to get, but I hope to find something more functional and professional when I do. Thank you for your interest, SmallRig, but you came up short.
The trick works. As far as shoulder pads go, this one is good. Adding it to my list of must-do's has become a habit This rig is shoulder mounted. As they are in their loose position, the tightening screws feel a bit loose. My opinion is that they flex a lot too much. Yet neither of them has fallen off nor have I lost one. These o-rings are quite tight when they are tightened to the 15mm rod. Despite its light weight, this device is very portable. There is sufficient padding to meet my needs. I have never been able to remove it. My recommendation would be to use it with a hand-held camera. *The downside is you need to plan the shoulder rig well, and insert this part of the puzzle in the right place, in between your other parts. Because this is not a clip on, you need to plan your shoulder rig well This type holder holds the type. Rods 15mm in diameter must be inserted into it. There may or may not be a possibility that it gets in the way of the tripod quick release plate, depending on how far under the camera or camera plate you place it.
I have used this shoulder pad for a few gigs now and I can say it is by far the most comfortable The only downside (I have not tried many) is that it makes a lot of noise when placed on the The only time I could see this being a problem would be when shooting short films with direct sound.
The support was much greater, and there was no slipping. I am not sure where those people work who complain that this is too loud are seated. My experience is that I find it silent, but maybe they have a mic pointed at it. This is a highly recommended book.
Yer again, Smallrig hits a home run. A great feature of the pad is that it is offset mounted to As a result, you can alter the length along the rails quite a bit. It has always been a pleasure to work with this manufacturer. It is padded softly and is breathable. This pad is perfect if you are using foam plastic but if you are using other types, grab this pad.
The fact that this product was a little noisy was mentioned in a couple of reviews, but I didn't pay much attention. This one fell short of what I was looking for, but I like SmallRig's other products. My Redrock shoulder pad is bigger than I thought, and it is moderately noisy and not as comfortable as it could be.
Stylish and comfortable.
