I don't think Hero 4 will be any good.
Using GoPro as a camera is possible, but only if you have the case.
No, I don't think it does, but I'm not really sure, and also it doesn't handle ocean waves very well. I am lucky that my camera is waterproof, or else it would've been damaged

Selected User Reviews For TELESIN Gopro Dome Port for GoPro Hero8 Black, Underwater 6 inches GoPro Diving Dome Port with Waterproof Cover Case + Floating Bobber Handle + Trigger for GoPro Hero 8 Black
I think the dome's role is to do wonders under the water, magnifying the sound (in my case it was whales I was studying in norway) and enhancing battery drainage too, which is a real problem in cold water.
In the GoPro 8, the handles are ineffective and block the screen. The dome, however, does its job well. The dome has been removed from its handle and is no longer used with it. It would be better if they redesigned the handle, since it is nothing like what it was.
During my research, I selected this product because there is a string that makes it easy to take the go pro out of its case. It was not possible to push the start button on the GoPro unless you used the Hulk grip to push the button down, when I was using the camera in the water. In my attempt to push start, I spent more time than I did actually It was evident on the second day that the bubble contained water. I threw away the object on the fourth day.
During the first couple of uses, the assembly used to keep the camera sealed inside the dome broke. It snapped like the plastic had deteriorated since it came into contact with something. Due to water entering the chamber, my dome is no longer useful. The product was initially my favorite, but since it is not made with high quality material and the accessory is no longer functional, I don't recommend it.
This purchase has been generally satisfactory to me. The photos I have taken so far are pretty cool. Although I had to wait a while to set it up, the process was relatively simple. There are tutorials on YouTube that show you how to construct it. On top of that, water deposits on the dome can negatively affect your photographs. In order to counteract that, I intend to buy a product.
eager to give it a try, but, when going to assemble the trigger handle to the dome housing, I noted that the goPro style mounting tabs on the dome housing are a little wider than the trigger mount's opening. As it stands, there is no way to spread the trigger assembly fingers apart far enough so that the tabs can fit between them. I am bummed out because it is very evident this is a defect in design or manufacturing. Make wise decisions with your money You might want to try.
In a swimming pool, it would be great, but in the ocean, rough water could be a problem. Luckily, the GoPro 8, which is water-resistant, would be fine in a swimming pool, but in the ocean, you will definitely get what you pay for.
A cheaply made device, it broke when I used it for the first time. I reattached it to a different mounting point and the handle now works as it should. It was a bit disappointing that the images were The dome did not produce any very sharp images. Fortunately, I've since upgraded to a better model. This would have been better if I hadn't spent $50 on it.
