It was my first time installing a door bell camera and it went smoothly. In addition to taking my time with the installation, I made sure that everything was ok. First, I had to switch out the old transformer. In that case, it is 5v and The 16v 10vac battery I replaced it with performed much better. Upon further inspection, I changed the transformer to a 24v 30vac from the previous 24v 30vac just to be safe. The bracket kit included was also a great help for mounting on the door, the 15 degree angle bracket helps a lot. The camera has to scan the QR code on the phone to add wifi, so it was somewhat difficult to add. I took about 5 minutes to complete this A QR code was first scanned 10 minutes before the camera was finally able to scan it. Using the door bell camera, I must move the QR code on my phone in order to capture it. Second attempt was successful! The first attempt failed, but the second one In most doors bell cameras that I was looking into, the number of pixels is only DBW5 works with 2 and 4 GHz, as well as 4 and 2 GHz. It works on both the 4 and 5 GHz bands. Those are my 2 favorites. It seems that my 4ghz network has a better signal than my 5 GHz network. Cloud services are not useful to me. My local storage is a Samsung micro sd card with 64GB of space. It is a pleasure to watch the video feed and observe at night. There is a noticeable improvement in the quality due to the 4MP camera instead of the In latency motion recording, I experienced one issue. Door bell motion is not recorded as soon as it is detected. Prior to recording, it seems to take some time for the recording to begin. In response to my request, Frank replied back to suggest that I should change settings in the camera settings option. It is > Go to Setup> It is > There are records It is > You can record an alarm and enable pre-alerts Obviously this is an improvement on the previous record It would have been nice if there had been a 5 second pre-roll It's better than nothing to have this record instead of the two! It supports ONVIF as well, as we mentioned above. Until now, I have not had the chance to setup my NVR/DVR. Customer service is always excellent, and fast response times can always be expected.
It was a fairly painless process. After removing the old doorbell, I simple connected a small adapter to the mechanical chime (which is very easy to do). After I connected the camera to the USB-port, I checked the settings in the camera My house came with a C adapter, which allowed me to setup everything before connecting the device to the power. I mounted the setup to the wall once I had completed the setup. features a lot of adapters, so I was able to get the camera angled exactly in the direction I wanted it to face. My first impression of the angle was that it is quite wide, which is perfect for the application and will catch everything I want it to capture. I was able to turn off the motion detection after installing the app, but I noticed that the motion detection went off too often after installing it. As far as I can tell, this is my only complaint, since the detection is not as accurate as I would like. I even tried to limit it to faces, but that proved more unreliable. Because I am using Blue Iris as the primary recording method, it didn't matter as much to me. Speaking of which, I was having difficulties getting the camera to function properly. Though I followed the advice I saw here, I was unable to get it working. To get it to work with Blue Iris, I followed the steps below to step by step. Someone else will hopefully benefit from this. I. A. 1. You can add a new camera here. 2. Enter the name of the network and select IP network as the type click OK. Provide the IP address of your camera from the end with the port. The following is an example (which I found when using the Foscam VMS software) The 88

. Generic/ONVIF and *RTSP H should be used as the Make and Model, respectively. I can't seem to find the right place to put this. Alternatively, you can set the Media/Video/RTSP port to whatever you are using for the camera, which is 88
8 by default. To change the Discovery/ONVIF port to 888
9, click the link below. The URL path for Stream Profiles, under Main, by default is /. It should be changed I was able to get everything to work in Blue Iris after I did those things. This camera is a quality piece of hardware without needing to pay for cloud storage services. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for the best quality doorbell without needing to pay for cloud storage.
It would be unfair not to acknowledge the exceptional support provided by Foscam customer service Great job trying to help me out, they were always super responsive and went over and above to help me. There are 6 APs spread throughout my property that are part of a Deco mesh network As a result, in order for the camera to work 100%, I needed it to connect (wifi) to a specific AP, at the shortest distance and with the strongest signal. In the beginning, the camera would not remain attached to the correct access point The camera was already configured so that it would not roam or change APs dynamically on the Deco. There was still more to do I've also heard about the "beam forming" feature of Deco, where the APs gather signals from the devices attempting to connect in order to concentrate them to the connected devices When I disabled the feature, the came never moved to another AP, and everything worked as expected. My infrastructure is at fault here, not the camera, and I blame myself for this As advertised, the camera works well and Foscam offers excellent customer service and support.
