In a nutshell, The basic four were already in my possession The front of my house is covered by a Reolink 5 MP system, but I would like better/more comprehensive coverage at the back. The 5MP Pan Tilt Zoom camera is now available. The video I've included with this review shows a short clip from the "patrol" the camera is being set to make, and as you can see, the video quality is good. Here is a picture of a van driving down the street, which you can see the license plate of if you look closely. Around 60 - 75 miles were driven in the van During the recording of this video clip, it was about 70 feet away from me. Generally, it worked quite well The only issue I had was that at night the camera lost focus I had a problem with my Reolink camera, but their responsive support sent me a firmware update that fixed the issue. The service may be used at home or in the business world. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with most of the major (and some minor) brands of home security camera systems. As a matter of fact, it's always been about who had the least to lose. It has never been easy for me to make choices that I am 100% happy with. I have never been satisfied with the products I have purchased, usually the software is clunky, the build quality is not satisfactory, or the longevity is too short. They all "do the job", but I never really like them. I did not know Reolink had such a good product line until I discovered it! I'm in awe! In addition to the price they are substantially lower than the major brands in the business, their build quality is excellent. There is no flaw in the software, and it works as it should. Getting started is a piece of cake. It seems my friends and neighbors are always seeking advice on how to set up security cameras for their home (or business). The louder I yell, the lower my heart rate will be. REOLINK is the way to go! The PTZ camera? Oh, I didn't know that existed? At a fraction of the price of competitive products, this product is truly outstanding. Despite the camera's high resolution, the image quality is still excellent and it responds to movement commands well (whether located locally or remotely). It is truly amazing to see the zoom in action. If you are looking for a high-quality PoE PTZ camera, you simply can't go wrong. Choosing to stay or to go is up to you. The review did not involve any form of compensation for me. It has been an absolute joy to discover a brand of security camera system that doesn't compromise on quality.
There is a lack of general performance with this camera. When zooming or panning, the auto focus is a complete mess, and goes to full blur. A common problem with auto focus is that it can't bad autofocus defeats the purpose of PTZ because the pan is rendered useless because you cannot see what's happening as you pan. Whenever the camera is zoomed, panned, or tilted, a full blur is introduced followed by a series of overcorrections In response to commands, the PTZ is apathetic and when it finally responds, it moves to some random location. It is sometimes a little difficult to turn the PTZ on and off when it doesn't respond. The scan code sends you directly to the application. It was a bit of a blunder trying to find the IP address from the mobile app, which is what is recommended to start with. Mac users can get a pretty good camera app, but the IP address is best and can be entered directly to the camera. All in all, I think that spending a little bit more money could have bought more of a It would be great if there was more zoom and better autofocus. PTZ cameras with automatic tracking have even been on my list. The PTZ controls make it impossible for you to control the camera to follow a moving subject. If the auto focus chased the subject all the time, it would be blurry.
This is a great cheap PTZ camera, and I own two of them. A house of this size would be great for residential use. I appreciate how clear and crisp the images are, and how well the IR works. Note that you should disable UID if you have a local NVR or are not planning to use the camera remotely. In the event that the camera is left on, it will call home every two minutes to servers in China. As a step further, I block the cameras from accessing the internet and I turn off UID, as I do not trust the security of cheap IP cameras. There is no reason not to do this with any other camera brand. If you are looking for one of those cloud-connected cameras, then there is no need to connect it to outside servers.
The weather conditions in which I installed the camera were well within its listed specs. Though it had consistent power, multiple test qualified Ethernet lines with the appropriate weather sealing and a reliable IP address, the machine would often reset itself to its previous IP address. The only explanation I have is either that there was a defect in the device, or that the weather specifications were not accurate, and the device failed due to environmental circumstances.
