Questions & Answers

Is it possible to do this with just a smart phone or do you need a digital recorder?

While the digital recorder is not necessary, it benefits HDD storage as it allows for longer times between recordings. In order to use most basic functions and features, you simply need an Android phone and the Amcrest View Pro app, which can be found on the app store for iPhone IOS devices and on the Google Play store for Android-powered devices.

Does the microphone function if you use POE without an external power source? What about all the functions when using POE?

This is a POE Camera that uses a POE Switch to get power over the network. I am part of the Amcrest

The IR light can be disabled in Night View, but the day light can still be seen? To trigger motion record, I have solar operated lights, so I don't need to have a go ?

The best 4K night vision camera Amcrest has ever developed
5/5

It is now 1 year and 6 months since he died. The following is an update of December 10, 2000 In the end, Amcrest changed its mind "I consulted with our technicians and they assured me that our firmware updates are working properly and that the issue is most likely caused by the power being disconnected during installation. Our decision has been to replace the device once only. It should be noted that the firmware update was accomplished via the web interface while the camera was still mounted to my house and connected to an Amcrest POE injector located in my garage and continuously powered, so I'm not sure how and why the power was The good news is that they are sending a replacement camera after RMAing this camera. I am delighted to work with Amcrest!

Update
Unfortunately, I have updated the firmware on this camera and now it is stuck at the rebooting stage. Up until the moment I pressed the Upgrade button on my browser to update the firmware to V2, the camera worked perfectly. The 00AC000 code. Once the camera has started, it displays live video for a few seconds before rebooting. In my contact with support, nobody was able to help me resolve the issue. I contacted the RMA group and they recommended I do so. According to them, the camera was purchased almost a year and a half ago, so it was no longer covered by warranty and Amcrest does not provide I would like to suggest that it may have simply been a coincidence that the camera failed, with nothing to do with the firmware. It is my experience that the camera would be working perfectly today if I had not installed Amcrest's latest firmware. There's nothing wrong with the software, so it must be Despite my satisfaction with my other Amcrest cameras, I have decided not to update the firmware on them. Since using Amcrest IP cameras for home and business security for several years now, I have been satisfied with their performance. This camera serves as my primary video surveillance camera for my driveway and front yard. It has a 112 degree field of view, which is perfect for my needs. Its 4k video is amazing during the day, but I am pleasantly surprised to find that it has excellent nighttime vision compared to my other cameras. This is a fantastic camera that I would highly recommend to anyone. To give you a little more insight into my experience, let me give you some specifics. In addition to the POE (power over Ethernet) connectivity, this camera can also be powered by a 12V supply. Because it is easy to install, I went with the POE Injector by Amcrest. Connecting an Ethernet cable from my network to the DIN port on the injector and then connecting a third cable between the camera and the injector was all I needed. My heart leapt for joy when I discovered the weather seal had been replaced The RJ-45 connector is designed to allow Ethernet cables to be plugged in It is easier to fit a premade cable through a 45 connector than a standard connector, so premade cables work well. Several options are available for where the video is recorded when using the camera. My camera can store a local copy of the video on an SD card. I installed a Samsung 64GB 100MB/s (U3) card. Motion/sound triggered recording at the highest resolution, high frame rate, and highest quality give me about 4 days of video storage. I had not anticipated that installing the SD card would be as complex as it was. Several Amcrest cameras I have used have a small, weatherproof panel which can be popped off to reveal the SD In this camera, it is not only necessary to remove the back cover, but also the camera board inside. It is not a challenging process, as there are only five screws to undo, but the instructions are not very clear. Fortunately this is a one-time task so it should not pose a big problem. It is important that you don't touch the camera lens itself or, if you do, that you clean it before closing up the camera. In order to set up the camera, I used the free Amcrest View Pro app on my Android phone. Each step of the process is explained in detail. It is very straightforward and easy to follow. After this was completed, I was able to view the live video and audio feed from anywhere in the world. Besides playing back the recordings, I can also listen to the stored recordings. On top of using the app on my phone, I use AMC Surveillance Pro on my computer. The app allows me to monitor multiple cameras at the same time during the day and it is also free.
After the camera had been set up, I explored the many customization options provided by the device. In addition to giving you full control over nearly every aspect of the camera, Amcrest allows you to customise it to meet your specific requirements. then focused on setting up motion detection and sound detection on the more detailed configuration options. It is excellent to have options to choose from. The motion detection can be set up by setting an active day and time, the amounts of motion that need to be recorded, four separate regions, etc. The sound detection allows you to set specific time and thresholds by seeing the sound level displayed on a live graph as a live graph. Having checked the night vision capabilities of the camera once the sun set I was able to check the camera's capability in the darkness. In addition to that, the shutter speed of the camera is fast enough for moving cars and people to be captured with little Having night vision perform so well has been very satisfying to me. The built-in microphone is very sensitive. I have no problem hearing people in my yard, dogs barking, birds singing, sirens, etc. The camera has a noise reduction option to filter out some of the background noise, but I found the audio quality to be better without it. Essentially, this is an incredible camera with a lot of versatility. This camera makes excellent daytime 4K video during the daytime hours, excellent night vision during the night, and is excellent for recording audio whilst viewing through the android app I think it's time for an update for the PC app, since it works fine. If you prefer to purchase Blue Iris software that works well with their cameras, Amcrest suggests doing so. When you consider the features and performance this camera offers for a relatively low extra cost, this is a great deal.

Audio is excellent because of the built-in speakers
5/5

A 4K camera with this level of quality is quite impressive. When I swapped out one of my 2k cameras, it was a simple matter of unplugging the RJ45 connector and plugging it back in to the replacement It takes no time at all to install. Despite its low resolution, the video is very clear. The viewing area of this camera is larger than my previous one. In spite of the absence of visible IR LEDs, the night vision is excellent. I have other cameras that have red IR lights that you can see when it is dark, which gives away the fact that there is a camera Despite the camera's shape, it is easy to adjust since it sits inside mounting hardware in a ball shape. Simply grab a camera and twist it in the direction you desire. One of the coolest upgrades was the one that integrated the systems - An audio track with two channels. It enables me to hear everything at my front door since I have the camera there. You do not need to set up or wire anything extra. The PoE connection includes all of this. cameras feel very sturdy and strong thanks to their quality construction.

It seems a little laggy on my Amcrest NV4108E It seems that NVR's resource demand is too high
4/5

It was x2 Amcrest IP4Ms that needed to be replaced You can use these two units to power four 1026E (4 MP) cams. There is no such thing as a wireless network. In an experiment using the HDMI output of the NVR to display a 4K monitor, the 4MP cameras running at 15fps provided a smooth video (Live), however the 4K cams produced a laggy/jumpy image There is nothing horribly wrong with it, but it is inconsistent. While playing back, I've just been watching the clock. In the blink of an eye, seconds pass. Catch up as soon as you can. A range of 8 to 10 frames per second is obtained An average of 23 instead of a constant of There is no reason for this to happen. After lowering the resolution to 20 FPS @ 6, I had to raise it back up to 24 FPS @ 3. The camera does have a 2MP resolution, but I did not purchase 8MP cameras to run them at 6MP. There's not much to be impressed with here with 2 stars. It may be necessary for them to return. However, I am sure it is not my network. I will try some more troubleshooting. I am going to try to remove some other cams since I am using all 8 channels as is, but the NVR is supposed to have a throughput of 80Mbps, which I am nowhere close to achieving. No matter what happens, I will update this review soon.

The IR lighting is more powerful and easier to set up
5/5

It is one of my favorite 4K fixed lens cameras from Amcrest for medium to far distance surveillance. By keeping the camera and IR separate, the camera will not suffer from debris or pollen reflecting off of In the five-year window, the IR fill is at 5 Having a view of 30 yards at night provides a fuller view than most domes. I still have to compare moving object captures at night and during the day, but I do think they will also be quite a bit better than the dome cameras I have tried so far. Having one Allen screw to loosen frees the camera turret for positioning makes it much easier for the camera to aim. In other cameras, three dome screws must be unscrewed to remove the cover, after which the camera must be adjusted keeping in mind the position of the IR led in the case of housing reflection into the lens here, there is no such problem. In the future, I will provide images for comparison.

Definitely a POE camera worth getting
5/5

A similar model (or even the same model) already belongs to me, but it is As a result, I swapped a 4mm with a 2mm because the driveway needed a wider view angle. It's just perfect how to do it with 8mm here. The device is connected to the BlueIris CCTV software (highly recommended if you have a spare PC with these specifications). In addition to the good picture quality, this device has a number of features The best way to do it is in microphone. If you would like to change the on-screen location of date/time, you will need to connect to the camera via a It worked fine until I ran into the problem of having to use You click on the link for the plugin (displayed on the webpage) and you're redirected to a PDF document, right? When I talked to support, they said I would need the SeaMonkey (open source browser) and after I installed it, I was able to see the video feed and realign the time stamps. There was an announcement on the SeaMonkey webpage that the browser will be discontinued later. I would be interested in knowing if Amcrest is working on a solution to that problem. Leaving the above column blank if you are just associated the camera with a DVR. One more thing, this is a PoE (Power over Ethernet) can. Since it uses PoE, you need either a 12V power supply or a PoE switch for the camera. Someone complained the customer had to buy an Ethernet switch or power adapter in a negative review? As long as you read the product description before ordering, the PoE cam is what you need.
