Questions & Answers

What do I need to connect this pair together to fire the 430exii wirelessly from my 5Dmk2? Does a transmitter need to be purchased as well?

The YN- does not need to be carried The TX equivalent of 622C might be 622D. I am a member of the In other words, 622C parts are transceivers, meaning that each one has both a transmitter and a receiver built into it. I am a member of the In this way, the 622C can distinguish between being a transmitter or a receiver as a function of whether it has a hotfoot on the bottom, or a hot shoe on the top, and the flash unit is attached to that hot shoe. In the pair The 622C is intended to be used in the following manner There are two transmitters -- one on the camera (transmitter) and one on the flash (receiver) however you can use the YN-8076. If you don't want to use it, you can still use the 622C TX, which has a nicer user interface.

Batteries have been put in and the switches have been turned to either of the two modes, but neither light flashes or illuminates. Could you please let me know what I'm missing?

For a short period of time, you should be able to see the channels and the GP light, but you should press the "Test" button to see if it has power.

Do you know if it works with Sony a7 II and Sony HVL 43M flashes with Mi Shoe?

Sony has nothing to do with these. Canon cameras and Canon-compatible printers are the only devices that will work both with these units It should be compatible with

What does it mean I will work with two masters after putting 1 YN622 + ST-E2 in the shoe? Can you tell me how this configuration works for you? Are you in need of assistance?

It has not been used yet, I'm sorry. As far as I know, I've yet to test the product since I bought it for the photoshoot

A great way to trigger a flash
5/5

My career as a studio photographer came to an end after leaving studio lights in 2013 and instead started using Cactus manual triggers that I wiring and rewired to make them work even out to 300 feet in most cases. There were two sets of the 622c versions of these TTL triggers I tried, but they were inconsistent, whereas these Yongbuo triggers were perfect. In all the tests I've run, including walking 50 feet and going from one room to another, I did not see any trouble. As the exposure will vary very slightly in a photo that is not taken using a flash, it was acceptable that the exposure also varied with flash. An issue with these triggers is that if there isn't enough time given for the camera to compute the exposure, this on can result in inconsistent exposures. A slight pause of depressing the shutter button then waiting a second to make the shutter fully depress is all that is needed for a It took me a bit to get used to the call pause since I used to work with manual triggers. I'll be honest--I will usually set these manually most of the time as well. So far, I am extremely satisfied with them and have ordered another set since I usually have 4 flash setups. I use the 622c TX trigger, which is also great. A Canon 70d, a 580 EXII flash, a Neewer 985C flash, and two SB-650s are all I use with these A Nikon D800 with 24 Nikon flashes (on manual). They offer me much more flexibility when the lighting is constantly changing and I don't have to use the TTL cable any longer. I have not had any problems with the locking mechanism being too loose. I am also contemplating adding more flashes and triggers to my lighting setups in order to make them more complex. Those who have arthritis in their hands will find it easier to use because of the mechanism. Additionally, the USB port gives users the opportunity to update their systems. The problem is that these do work well, so it might just be a marketing gimmick. Outside of using them with the 622c mode, I haven't used them. I find these triggers to be quite effective for me.

For simple applications, it works well, but cannot be configured in an advanced way
3/5

Two reasons motivated me to replace my trusty and simple Cowboy Studio triggers with the Yongnuo transceivers 1) I prefer the locking connection on the bottom of the version II so they won't slide off the stand or camera, use a flash can be mounted on top of my camera when using it as a trigger. I have not had one fall off a stand yet (it is now wrapped in electrical tape), but they do lock much better than the first version (YN622C). In comparison to the first version, they appear to be more reliable. Although they aren't as reliable as the Cowboy Studio triggers and receivers (in theory), they're supposed to be more versatile. originally planned to use one flash for Channel 1, group A and a second flash for Channel 1, group B in hopes that I could switch back and forth and then combine the two when needed. On the other hand, I cannot get them to work together. After that, I attempted to purchase We have also tried using the TX controller to accomplish that, but it also does not work. kind of still hold out hope that I will run across another photographer who can solve the above issue, but until then, they serve me just fine as simple transceivers for weddings and commercial work alike. I spent the following time It probably took at least three solid days to test multiple configurations/flashes and get advanced features working.

Pleasantly surprised by the results I recommend it
4/5

This is exactly what I needed when I got into off camera flash and I am very pleased with the results and price. When I first dipped my toes into off camera flash, I bought a pair of Canon speedlites for $250 thinking that was my only option as a beginner. My first reaction to the Yongnuo products was skepticism, but I saw some reviews on YouTube and decided to give them a try. Despite the price, or perhaps even in spite of the price, these are great products, and I am amazed at the impact they had on Flashes have indeed not occurred in the past, but I'm not sure I could ever correlate this to this trigger. As a result, I think those who oppose it are rather There were always fires caused by the light not recycling in time, or by batteries or some other problem. Do you think for a moment that you could buy Canon (or Nikon) and be absolutely certain that it would work 100% of the time? Perhaps. In real terms, it's cheaper to buy 5 of these guys than a big name one. I can purchase Yongnuo and I will have a vast array of lights and triggers at my fingertips. The power switch was the only issue I had with the device, and it was due to my own negligence as I did not read the manual carefully. When I turned on the power switch I discovered there were two options It is 560 I have two RXs and one By the second time I used the computer, I only had to raise the power switch by one notch I put my flash on TX and it wouldn't fire. I was stumped for quite a while trying to figure out why it wouldn't fire and only finally (accidentally) found the solution by moving the power switch one notch further The 622C-code I believe the text to be E triggers, so the 622 setting is correct on this receiver's power switch). Besides the above issue (not really a product issue), the design is simple, with just a push of a button allowing you to set a channel and a group. The only feedback I have is good and I would recommend it.

What you pay for is what you get As in my case, you are paying for less than you get
3/5

In addition to these triggers, I ordered a YN-70 The 622C-code Taking a hard look at the pros and cons of a TX controller It's a con over PocketWizards, which is more expensive. I jumped at the chance to save a few bucks, just like so many other people who were enchanted with all the raving reviews. Sadly, both triggers and controller failed to power on completely brand new out of the box even after brand new batteries were The quality control card was inserted into both packages, which is a bit comical as both packages were for some reason hand stamped. The irony is not lost on me. As I read about another reviewer (twice) which had experienced the same thing, I swore it would not happen to me. Due to this, I am returning them and will invest in PocketWizards instead. For those of you who are debating whether it's better to save a few bucks on a Chinese knockoff or invest in a quality brand, ask yourself the following What would you rather be known for? Being a reliable photographer with top of the line The penny-pincher whose equipment breaks during a critical time during the shoot may cause the shoot to be ruined. The shot is semi-automatic if you try it As a professional like myself, do yourself a favor and make sure that you invest your money in a more reliable product.
