While debating between a soft box light and a ring light to provide better lighting for my video conference calls, I decided to opt for the soft box There are four reasons I decided to go this route There are a few disadvantages to the comparably priced ring lights 1) many break within a month, 2) these plug into regular outlets, not USB ports and 3) I prefer the balanced light of a pair of lights to a single headlamp. (helps reduce glare caused by glasses, etc), 4) the flexibility for other purposes (maybe some content videos that don't have lights for one person talking into the camera), and so on. In conclusion, even though these features felt a bit overkill for what we needed, I chose to go down this route because of their benefits. The additional sandbags were my reason for choosing this brand over others. Easily set up and compactly stored, these lights are perfect for any party up to 100 people. You get double comp points. Upon first installation of the bulbs, a bulb blew out rendering it inoperable. I contacted the company and they responded quickly, professionally, and kindly even though we had another bulb that wasn't as high wattage. The company provided me with another bulb I was able to test the light fixture to verify it worked fine. A replacement bulb order was issued, and we received it. Oh, I see. The sandbags are also there. Since we haven't yet filled them with sand (and the light stands are stable enough without them, if you are careful walking around them), they aren't filled yet. Even so, I am glad they are here and could see how they can be helpful. Overall, we are very happy with how these turned out. Although the footprint (all of the stands and such) is larger than a single ring light, and it cannot hold your phone while you make your video, if you are looking for something more substantial and long lasting, these are ideal!.

Within the first few minutes, the second one shut down due to faulty electrical wiring As a result of a bad internal connection, the light flickered when the cable to the light socket was moved. The wire connected to the socket was loose, so I disassembled the socket to see what was going on. An overheating condition can cause an electrical fire due to insufficient wire length and poor fitting lamp socket terminals. The problem is that the wire is too thin and cheap to fit It took a bit of work to restore the proper function of the terminal ends. For a reasonable price, you do get two complete sets of hardware, but there are some problems with how the hardware is connected to the power systems. Despite being cheap, it is dangerous. It is unclear which terminals of the thin wiring go to which lamp arm sockets. It could result in a short circuit and burn out of the lamp. Depending on how well they are constructed in the factory, they may wear out over time and use.

I have bumped these lights a few times, and they are still standing at a steady position. This has turned out to be a solid investment for our upcoming films.

They arrived on when they were supposed to, set up easily, and I used them as soon as I got In spite of the fact that they come with sandbags, I have found that if I adjust the base so that the base is wide, and don't mount them too high, they are My company is using them for live stream video production, as well as YouTube video production. They are doing everything I need, and they take up little space and pack up quickly. I enjoy working with them for their low cost.

While the equipment generally works as expected, the rubber nub at the top of the light stand is pointless as it is too thick to work with the light and needs to be removed for use, though the slightest bump causes it to fall off. I feel as flimsy as a fresh Twizzler and more flexible than the electrical wire. The dufflebag that arrived was missing a 4 inch portion of canvas one of the nylon cases for the lamp head was also damaged. The quality control seems to be lacking, since the dufflebag arrived with a gap of 4 inches in which the sewing machine completely missed the extra canvas.

These were bought for product shots, and I'm happy with the quality especially considering what I paid. I was a little worried about how few reviews were out there, but then I noticed that many other stores had what is likely the same product just white-labelled differently and I went ahead with it. The decision was the right one for me! I am excited to buy from this seller again in the future after seeing the rest of their products. I didn't own any sandbags before so I find this very useful. Oh, and they give you an extra piece of sandbag, which is rare!.
