The camera is simple to hold and operate, but the night vision isn't as good as it appears. I zoomed in on an owl perched on a nearby tree; the first photo was taken while the sun was still shining, and the second was taken later in the evening. In order to take a good photo, you must first have some light. Overall, it's not bad, but it's not as good as I anticipated based on the product description and photos provided.
- I was able to take a zoomed in photo of a tree while outside and it was pitch black after messing around with the camera more and getting better with the different infrared settings. It's a little difficult to take a very steady photo when using night vision and zooming in, but it does come with a stand connector (which I didn't use). When it comes to taking a crystal clear photo of a moving animal in the dead of night, You'd have to be an incredible photographer, and it'd be difficult with this camera, but taking a great photo of a stationary animal in complete darkness is very possible. br>In conclusion, this is an excellent night vision camera for amateur photographers like myself.
Update: br>After giving it a little more time, I noticed that the flared view is shifted to the right side of the frame. There is no way to correct this. Another problem is that the lenses are out of focus. This was not noticed at first, but it became apparent when pointing to something with patterns or lines. You can adjust the focal points on the binocular, but there's no way to see things clearly. I have to return at this price. br>br>It was received and I'm excited to try it out. Expect it to be nowhere near as good as a military-grade binocular seen in movies. It's a toy that's a lot of fun to play with. The construction quality is excellent. Weighted in a lighter manner. The strap and pouch that come with the box are very useful. It was important to note that 6 AA batteries were required.
This does not work as described in the description. When I looked at my dogs, all I saw was a black screen. I changed the settings, but it didn't help.
It is for financial gain. Okay, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm not dissatisfied, but I do wish the screen was larger. Overall, I'll give it my best shot during a hunt. And see.
These are some seriously cool night vision goggles. They can even be used during the day, and what you see can be recorded. The fact that this unit produces a very clear image at night is a huge plus. It uses AA batteries, and I'm hoping that it comes with rechargeable batteries so that I don't have to change them.
It received positive feedback.
This device is a fun way to look around at night and see what's going on in the world. I've tried a few of these devices, and many of them (including this one) appear to use the same basic electronics and user interface, so I'm guessing they're all made in the same factory and then have different branding and casing designs applied around the core electronics. br>br>IN THE BOXbr>The main unit, a 32 GB micro SD card, a USB cable, a lens cleaning cloth, and an instruction manual are all included in the box. br>br>DESIGNbr>The design resembles that of a small handheld camcorder, with a hand strap on one side, three buttons on top, three buttons on the side, a tripod mounting hole on the bottom, the main lens and infrared emitter on the front, and the viewing screen on the back. br>br>One side of the unit slides away to reveal the battery compartment, where 5 AA batteries must be installed. The USB port and micro SD card slot are also accessible through a small flap. br>br>The buttons on the top of the unit are placed so that you can reach them while wearing the strap. There are plus and minus buttons for zoom and infrared illuminator level, as well as a camera button that takes still photos or starts and stops recording, depending on the mode. The three remaining buttons for menu, mode, and power are located on the unit's side. br>br>To focus the lens, rotate the lens cylinder. br>br>SETUPbr>The unit is simple to set up. To turn it on, simply place the batteries in the device and press the power button. It will turn on even if the IR illuminator is not turned on, and the scene will appear on the screen. By pressing the menu button, you can access the menus where you can adjust the photo and video resolution (although you should probably just leave them at the highest setting because it isn't that high and you'll still be able to store a lot of photos and videos on the included card). You can also adjust the night vision sensitivity, set a power saving mode if you want the unit to turn off after a few minutes of inactivity, set the date and time, choose how you want the date and time stamped on your photos and videos, adjust the display language, and format the SD card. Once you've got everything set up the way you want it, you're ready to go. br>br>IN USEbr>To operate the device, simply look at the screen while aiming it at the object you want to see. If the image appears blurry, twist the lens surround to adjust the focus. When the unit is turned on for the first time, it will be in normal mode, with the infrared illuminator turned off. As long as there is at least some light available, this mode will significantly brighten the scene. Color will be used to create the image. br>br>You can zoom in and out by pressing and holding the up and down arrows, but it's a digital zoom, not an optical zoom. So, if you're going to take photos or video, it's probably best to leave the unit zoomed all the way out and then use digital zoom to zoom in later. You'll want to use the infrared illuminator once it gets too dark outside. By tapping the up or down arrows, you can toggle between seven levels of infrared illumination before returning to the illuminator's off position. When you turn on the illuminator, the camera will click as the infrared filter is applied and the image will change to black and white; when you see the image on the screen, the illuminator has the effect of a bright flashlight. The infrared light is not visible to the naked eye, but the illuminator on the front of the device emits a red glow. br>br>The mode button, similar to that on a digital camera, allows you to switch between photo, video, and playback modes. In photo mode, the camera button takes a picture, while in video mode, it starts and stops recording. br>br>PERFORMANCEbr>This unit performs admirably for its intended purpose. It will not provide you with military-style training. It doesn't have the kind of movie-quality night vision, but it brightens up very low light a lot, and when you use the infrared illuminator, it's like having a mostly invisible high-intensity flashlight to reveal things even in complete darkness. Objects up to 100 feet away are easily illuminated by infrared light. If you look at the unit itself, you can see the infrared illuminator, and anyone else with technology that can see infrared light will be able to see it as well. br>br>The videos and photos aren't particularly high-resolution, but they should suffice for most people if they're in their backyard or camping and want to photograph wildlife in the dark. br>br>TWO ISSUESbr>I have two concerns about this device, the first of which is critical because it may alter your perception of how you intend to use it. 1. br>br> You can't look through it like a scope by holding it up to your eye. This unit's design makes it appear as if you could hold it up to your eye and look through it in the dark. You simply cannot do so. The device's viewing screen is exactly that: a screen. You won't be able to hold this up to your eye because there are no optics, eye cups, or anything like that. It has the same effect as holding your cell phone screen up to your eye if you hold it up close. You won't be able to see anything because you won't be able to see anything. To see the screen, you must hold the scope away from your body, and the screen is quite small. The other disadvantage of this setup is that the screen's bright glow illuminates your face, making it easy for whatever you're looking at to see you. This device would be much better if you could hold it up like a real scope, and I believe that's how it will be used based on the product listing.

2. The buttons are pressed and released. Instead of soft-serve ice cream, The unit's buttons are very plasticky, and each press produces an audible click. If you're using it to watch wildlife, this is likely to draw attention to it. br>br>SUMMARYbr>This is a fun unit if you want an entry-level unit. level night vision device for casual use if you don't mind looking at the small screen from afar. The infrared illuminator can truly illuminate any scene, even in complete darkness, and the ability to take photos and videos allows you to share what you see with others later. The design is attractive and fits comfortably in your hand, but it's a shame you can't hold it up to your eye like a regular scope or camcorder. PROS: br>br>
