Both times, you are correct. This is, without a doubt, a genuine Pulsar. Yes, these thermals are $20K cheaper than they were a decade ago. In 2012, after getting to test one at a SCI annual auction where a vendor had a booth and was willing to let people go outside with him, I personally priced the technology. Finally, there are advantages to mass production.
It's the Trail (1) XP50 LRF, not the Trail (2) XP50 LRF.
The IPS 7 (PL79166) and IPS 14 (PL79168) battery packs are available as spares.
The unit costs this much on Amazon.

The freeze feature makes spotting it in a snap. Clear as a bell.
This is a good product; getting sighted in was a little difficult, but that was the only issue. At night, the clarity and detail are truly incredible and well worth the money.
For more information, see my review of the Thermion, but be aware that if you plan to use it in a variety of temperatures, you should be aware of the following: There will be a shift in the impact point! This was done by two trail models before I "upgraded" to a Thermion that did it as well. I forgot to give the trail a review earlier, but do some research before you spend a lot of money. This is a frustrating problem that renders the optic ineffective.
