In school and at work, I've used a lot of microscopes, and I can confidently say the SW380T is a terrific pick for the price, especially for the level of focus you get. It's interesting to note that many microscopes don't have a fine adjustment knob that moves independently from the coarse adjustment knob, meaning that when the fine adjustment knob is used, the stage will still shift a little bit. If you're a hobbyist or want to teach high school laboratory, you won't have much of a problem, but individuals who have to work at a professional lab and need a high degree of sharpness and precision will need something (I usually don't take images of my microscopy) I was a little on the fence about the camera port, but my spouse really likes The best is on the way for our kids.

The pros are The view through each objective lens is crisp and clear

Cons *No darkfield feature (I personally do not need it)*no case, cap, fuse, or filter (painful, but no big deal)*no way to clean up after me if I'm exhausted from all the tiny things I look at all day )

Highly recommend this beast of a scope to anyone interested in microscopy.

wanted to share my love of science with my son, so I was in search of a microscope. I'm a photographer, so I knew the value of good glass, so I decided it would be better to buy him something he can enjoy as an adult and something I could also enjoy using in the meantime instead of a cheap toy microscope that would frustrate us both. I really like it. For my 8 year old granddaughter who is home schooling, I bought this microscope. My career spent much of it sitting in front of a microscope, so I know the difference between a good microscope and a bad I am pleased with how it turned out. I did not find any design flaws with it and I like that it has quite good optical resolution. This is much better than I thought it would be. The 100x oil objective hasn't yet been used, so I cannot speak to its quality, but the other three are of excellent quality, and the 10x and 25x objectives are both pretty good too. As part of the show, the stage moves smoothly, and the lighting is good enough for effective I use the trinocular to view the slides into the camera, but we can also discuss them together using the trinocular. The joy of seeing the hidden details of her world is truly coming to my granddaughter as she enjoys this. The mission was to buy her a microscope that would last her for several years in college, and I believe that we have achieved that goal. That is definitely a book I would recommend! A single negative (which is incredibly minor) is that the thin little plastic case is totally inadequate, and too small to fulfill its function. For less than $20, we arrived at a KitchenAid mixing bowl cover that fits well and provides good protection to keep it from becoming dusty and dirty.
