They do a great job at reducing reflections. A compression band made of brass is a C Initially, I did not notice that the screw was placed directly on the open section no space between the screw head and the threads on the band My eyepiece body was marred because I dropped it. As soon as I noticed that, I rotated the brass band, and it now works fine. My barlow's been fine for many years and I don't anticipate needing another one soon! Here's an update When placing the barlow between the diagonal and eyepiece, the instructions say to do this I saw blurry views when I did this. Now I have clear, well-detailed images thanks to the barlow, which I placed between the diagonal and the visual back.
The focal length would be suitable for a short cassigrain or I'm satisfied with how well it performs and how well it fits with all my eyepieces.

It is apparent that ORION takes great pride in its optoes. I give it two thumbs up!.
Construction and finishes are strong, the Barlow lens is excellent, it has good optics with 4 elements, and it is highly recommended for planetary and lunar observations.
It is a good value at the price it is offered at.
