Any one's power is multiplied by two. Orion Shorty Barlow Lens on a 25" telescope eyepiece
This is an excellent way to effectively double the number of telescope eyepieces in your collection without having to buy twice as many!
Only 3 inches long (half the length of a standard Barlow lens), this lens is easy to store in your accessory case.
The internal housing is baffled to eliminate unwanted reflections and increase contrast, and the doublet lens system is multi-coated for excellent transmission.

Questions & Answers

Is this scope compatible with my Celestron 21035 70mm Travel Scope? Thanks?

I can't be certain based on what I've read on the internet, and I don't own this scope. However, if the scope's eyepieces are 1. If your scope has a 25-inch diameter, this barlow lens will fit. This scope appears to be a low power scope with a theoretical maximum magnification of 165X, but I understand your desire to view objects at twice the magnification provided by your eyepieces. You could also opt for a 4mm eyepiece assuming it fits your scope, which will also increase your magnifcation to 400mm/4mm = 100 power, which may be less expensive than the barlow lens and meet your objective. 25-inch eyepieces, but with the time I have available to investigate this matter, I can't be certain. Wishing you luck and a pleasurable viewing experience.

Will this result in a 2x or 1x increase in manification? 5x ?

It's a size 2X shorty. It has a lot of positive feedback and has a lot of positive reviews. Though I am not a technical expert, I have no complaints about its performance.

I have a binocular telescope from Oberwerk with two 7mm eyepieces. Will it work with two of these and double the magnification if I buy two of them?

It is not something I would suggest. It's likely that you'll have trouble getting the images to focus or merging them.

Will the orion 10016 starblast 6 astro reflector telescope be able to use this?

Why not, I say? It's a 2X Barlow that'll suffice. It will still work even if you upgrade to a larger or better scope.

For a little more money, there are some better options available
3/5

This is a good entry-level piece, but it's not worth $40 in my opinion. (50 plus ridiculously high shipping) I found that this piece worked well at lower magnifications, such as with a 25mm eyepiece. Higher power ones, on the other hand, were frequently blurry. My scopes have a magnification range of 300x to 350x. I never got close to that with this, and I still had problems with it. My newtonian scope is, in fact, perfectly collminated. I used both high-end and low-cost eyepieces to test it. Eventually, based on the hype, I tried a televue powermate. A used Televue Barlow or powermate can be found for anywhere between 70 and 150 dollars if you look hard enough. Yes, additional funds are required. I understand, but televue powermates have incredible optics, and you'll find that you can get better imaging and views through a wider range of eyepieces with them. There are four lenses in each pair. This is where they really stand out. I'm aware that several other companies, such as Explore Scientific, now sell four-element barlows. In comparison to the more basic ones, it's a world of difference for me. and can go a long way with a small collection of eyepieces. br>br>Unfortunately, I had to go through a few cheaper barlows before I discovered this. I wish I had just gone ahead and bought a good piece right away. br>br>It all depends on your requirements. and if you'd rather spend a little more money now and have a few good pieces to last you a long time. Alternatively, you could keep buying upgrades over time. br>br>Also, the name "shorty" barlow is a little misleading, as it is designed to work better in diagonals or with a wider range of focusers, but it isn't really any shorter than my other barlows. It's a decent piece, but you can get it for less money if you buy it used. I don't think the $40 is worth it. Keep in mind that the Barlow effectively doubles your telescope's focal length. The eyepiece, not so much. br>br>In the end, I chose the number two. The Brandon Dakin 2 and the 5x Powermate (televue). Vernerscope's 4x barlow. I sold my powermate after purchasing the dakin. The brandon dakin barlows are insanely awesome. br>Check out the dakins by vernerscope if you really want to be impressed by a barlow. made in the United States of America I've looked through a lot of books, but the Dakin is the best. Even the televues couldn't match it. once more, in my opinion Because everyone's eyes are different, figuring out what works best for you and your setup can be time consuming and costly. That said, I've never heard anyone say the Dakin Barlow doesn't work well for them. I believe they have a regular 1. Barlow 2, a 25" dakin Currently, 4x costs around 185 dollars. As a result, more cash is required. However, in my early years of looking for a good one, I regrettably spent more on less expensive ones. before I heard about the dakin from someone at a star party. I'm only including this information in the review because I wish I'd known about some of these options when I first started out.

Great product; even with this slight magnification, there is a significant difference in power
5/5

This is a photo of the star Sirius taken with an Orion 130st telescope with a 10mm eyepiece and a 2x Barlow (which looks much better and clearer when viewed in the telescope itself). With just this slight magnification, I can see stars and planets much better, and if you look closely at this picture, you can see the star's heat waves.

The lens extension is fantastic
5/5

When used in conjunction with my 9 mm lens mounted on a 4in reflector, the effective magnification is doubled. A 5 mm lens was used. The four visible moons now fill the entire view of Jupiter when viewed from above. It has no effect on the brightness of the image. The focus is as sharp as if you were using the original lens. For my telescope, this is a fantastic addition.

Before you use it, make sure you've done your homework
5/5

I bought this to go with my Orion 90 mm refractor, so I'm a complete noob. Before you use it, please read the other reviews. It's also worth noting that, even with a wider eyepiece, the view will be narrower than with the same eyepiece but without the barlow lens. I'm still using it with standard eyepieces because I can't afford the ones I want. It's best to conduct your own research so that you can set realistic expectations for the scope you're using and any eyepieces you intend to use. To truly appreciate this or any barlow lens, you must first understand how they work, as well as your telescope's limits, what you want to see, and what you must do to see it. I'm happy with my purchase overall.

The lens had come loose
3/5

After a few months, the lens fell out, and due to Amazon's 30-day return policy, I am unable to return it for a replacement. However, I was a big fan of the Barlow lens and used it all the time. If the lens appears to be loose, proceed with caution. The only reason I gave it three stars is because of this. Just wanted to give you a heads-up on something.

Magnification is two times that of the original
3/5

It does increase magnification, but not nearly enough to see Mars or other planets more clearly. On the 9mm, the moon is much closer, but it also adds fuzziness. The Celestron Nexstar 130SLT telescope is what I use. Even when I use it in conjunction with a standard 9mm eyepiece, the magnification is insufficient. Hopefully, using a 5mm lens and a 2x barlow, I'll be able to see Saturn's Rings or Jupiter's Red Spot.

Saturn's Rings can be observed
5/5

We were able to see the rings around Saturn as well as the cloud bands on Jupiter using my Daughter's Orion table top telescope and a 10mm lens. Where a regular barlow lens wouldn't work, this worked perfectly.

This is a fantastic addition to my Orion Dobsonian telescope
5/5

This small Barlow lens fits into the focal tube (focuser) before the eyepiece and doubles the magnification of any 1. It came with a 25-inch eyepiece. It allows a 24 mm eyepiece to function as a 12 mm eyepiece, for example, while maintaining the same field of view. For any astronomer, it effectively doubles their eyepiece collection because each eyepiece can now be used at two magnifications (the original and twice that magnification with the Barlow). Although I lack the expertise to assess the quality of the lens used in this Barlow, it works well with my stock Orion eyepieces. The locking screws are excellent, and I'm able to use it with my 12-inch laptop. 5 mm Plossl for amazing views of the moon's surface, Mars's surface, and Jupiter's clouds. It is a five-star addition to my telescope for me, and I would recommend it to any new Orion scope owner.
