This is the best deal out there when it comes to price vs
5/5

In a nutshell, For my video recording to go to the next level, I wanted to purchase an external microphone for my DSLR. I've only been photographing for five years, so I don't have a huge budget to start out with. To get my foot in the door and see how things go, I was looking for an entry level mic. As a result of watching and reading a few reviews, I decided to spend a little more (not the cheapest entry level mic on the market) but I'm happy that The output sound quality from this little device is very good. I have used it for recordings in the wind as well as documenting a food vlog from my friend in a crowded diner.

Then you should purchase this if you are planning to use it with a cell phone
3/5

It is important to note that the advertisement for this product does not state that it will not work if you attempt to record on a smartphone. There will be a separate cable you must purchase SC7 3. Rodue SC7 3. Connect a TRS cable to a TRRS cable using this 5mm jack It needs to be in proper working order. Having just received mine, I intended to use it to record videos on my Google Pixel 2 XL, however after recording several videos, I found that the audio was the same whether I used the mic or not. I found a great video explaining why you need the new cable on youtube. Once I finally get the new cable, I'm not sure if I'll bother to update this review. I am frustrated to the point of tears.

To record with the Rode SC7 3, you'll need a Rode SC7 A 5mm TRS to TRRS Patch Cable is needed to record with your smartphone! It is mentioned in the fine print and at the very end of the video that the Rode SC7 3 is an "optional" accessory
4/5

To record on the Smartphone, you will need a 5mm TRS to TRRS patch cable. SLR cameras are compatible with the cable that is included. I had no idea that I was going to have to use a phone microphone when I ordered it because the video and pictures showed using it It is a very good and versatile microphone, but I deducted a star because of that. The price of the Rode TRS to TRRS cable is half that of a cheaper version of the cable. However, the quality of the cable suffers when the price drops to half that of the Rode version. Despite the fact that the microphone comes with two cables, I believe this cable should be one of them.

It is not the best mic, but it is not bad either
3/5

Mics like this are usually good but not great, and you will really like them or not depending on the reasons you want to buy them. With this microphone you can get a better audio experience than that of your camera's built-in microphone (for example a mirrorless camera or camcorder with an accessory shoe), provided it is a directional microphone (a mini shotgun mic) that is extremely compact. But this mic is only $50 and is at the lowest end of Rode's product range of external microphones The microphones on the camera will not perform miracles, so don't expect them to. The pros shall first be mentioned. There is a perfect fit between the microphone and the speaker Built with metal, it has a good, solid feel to it. This mic comes with a top notch shock mount, and the cable to plug it into your camera is of superb quality and just the right length, allowing you to get the job done without worrying about it flopping everywhere. Of course, it is also coiled, so for those who want more length, it is available. It was also a great idea to add a dead kitten wind sock. A lot of nice items are included in this $50 package. The mic is very compact, even with the shockmount and dead kitten, allowing you to stick it in your camera bag easily. You can connect the mic to your camera by using its plug By using inpower instead of batteries, you won't be left without power as you might be with I'll get to the cons now. We simply do not like the sound. This mic works well if you are just recording yourself when filming otherwise, you will be able to hear everything around you. Nevertheless, you should expect to spend some time modifying the EQ afterwards in order to improve the sound quality. saw reviews on YouTube showing that people were plugging that thing into their digital recorders and using that as a back up system The field mic is used for voiceovers and on-location recording A friend of mine was talking about how small and cheap his camera seemed, and how great it sounded. Rather than being used for this purpose (which to be fair, it was not intended for), this mic is very The only reason that I used it in this manner is that since it has an accessory/hot shoe mount, I was able to mount it to a tripod, microphone stand, or boom pole and plug it into a digital recorder using a longer 1/8" stereo cable. Even if you're willing to take some time in post-production to adjust EQ levels, you can surely make this mic sound its best, but the standard audio isn't going to sound impressive at all. I just want to warn Canon DSLR owners that their devices have notoriously bad microphone pre-amps Each of them contains an amp. When you try to plug this microphone directly into the camera (which is the use to which it was intended), you are most likely not going to be pleased You will need an external digital recorder if you are going to shoot video with your Canon, and if you decide to use one, you have a lot of choices when it comes to microphones. My own purpose for purchasing this microphone was to use it with a Sony AX-200 There is a super omnidirectional microphone on the built-in mic of the 53 camcorder The camera is directional, therefore not ideal when attempting to get a good focus on one particular subject (as opposed to, say, filming your child's It was a clear improvement for that application. Make sure you are aware of exactly what this microphone is intended for before deciding whether to purchase.

A video review of the RODE VideoMicro
5/5

VideoMicro is the product I am reviewing on this review page which is a mixture of a bunch of different products. Throughout the past couple years, I have tested so many different kinds of affordable audio equipment. I've tried different brands and models in search of something that works I was able to solve my problem! Sound is a thousand times better than the Vidpro XM-styled popular model If you have a 55 or a Therefore, if you are considering a 598 instead, it is a better choice. A TASCAM DR-100 is also much more complex than a TASCAM DR-1000 With my 60DmkII or TASCAM DR-106, I can sync after shooting You can sit back and listen to great audio by connecting it to your sound system. The camera is powered by a battery It doesn't matter if you forget to turn the mic on or you run out of batteries. Then you're ahead of the game I like the fact that it is small, stays out of the way, and has a nice wind screen (a good furry is almost the same cost as this
The direction of the monitor is pretty good, with a limited amount of background noise being picked up. My stuffy breathing isn't picking up at all due to allergies that I have right now. mostly use it with my Canon 70D, but I also mount it to my Osmo via the DJI OSMO With this microphone mount, you can move the mic 360° with ease. I still need a Tascam with Lavalier mics of the Rode NTG2 for some jobs that are fairly demanding, but I suspect that the VideoMico will be used a lot also on its own. Everything is great about it, and it simplifies life to a great extent. As well as my dog is obsessed with it because of its fluffy fur and the way it jiggles in its soft fur mount that can make for some interesting footage Therefore, I am not allowed to leave it lying around.
