While both microphones sound great, I like the fact that I can use the rear capsule to capture my voice when I'm reviewing or boxing some items without having to flip the mic every time. br>br>The microphone sounds great, my only issue is that the wind screens are very loose and could use better rubber seals, I lost important audio during situations where it suddenly became windy and the win screens were blown away.

This front and back recording feature is a godsend for getting good audio from both you and the person you're shooting in front of the camera. at the same time Depending on the direction you're shooting and your audio needs, you can set it to just front OR rare facing. Except, even with the supplied wind socks, the thing is absolutely terrible in the wind. br>br>I believe that foam windscreens could be easily cobbled together to solve the problem, but I don't have the time or need to experiment right now.

The idea of a shotgun mic with a mic pointing in both directions appeals to me greatly. That was a brilliant idea. In the videos I've made so far, the sound quality has been satisfactory. However, I haven't tested the mic's limits (I haven't done videos outside or in the wind), nor have I moved around too much, which could affect sound and quality. br>br>However, it works right out of the box, sounds great so far, and I'm looking forward to doing more long-term testing.

There will be no more moving the mic or using excessive audio compression to match the volume of the person in front and behind the cameras. I'm going to buy another of these to replace the microphone on my B camera.

The ideal microphone for the Canon M50. I have a Rode Video Micro, but the audio quality on this mic is slightly better, and the dual microphone feature is fantastic. As an actor, I require the microphone to pick up my audio as well as the reader who stands behind the camera! I can record with just one mic now that I don't need the extra vaudio recording! Amazing!.

I liked the microphone and find the dual microphone system to be very intuitive; the wind deflector is also great, though we almost lost the back one when it fell off while boarding a bus on the Grand Canyon. The sound quality is the only thing I wish was better; it's certainly better than the in-camera microphone, but it's far from perfect.

Update: The cleaning kit turned out to be a gift as a result of the microphone's shipment delay while it was held at the holding facility. I was pleasantly surprised, and I may have jumped the gun a little. The product is excellent. br>br>Instead of the microphone I paid for, Pergear sent me a cheaply made cleaning kit. I'm waiting for a response from the company on whether they will send me the correct item or refund my money. I, too, had been waiting for quite some time. Ugh.
