If you look at it indoors, or under incandescent lights, it can appear somewhat It can appear blue outside, under the sunlight or under the shade. It works very well at removing damage caused by light pollution in Milky Way photos despite being called a red intensifier. The photos on this page were taken exactly the same way with the same camera settings each time. With the addition of the filter, there is only one difference. Additionally, the filter permits more stars to be seen near the horizon since it helps reduce the orange glow. Obviously you lose a little less than 1/3 of a stop of light, but the end result is superb.
This filter is a great match for my 35mm ART Sigma lens that I use to capture my night sky pictures and landscapes. ) It doesn't provide the same level of protection as a dedicated astro filter, but it is a fraction of the cost, and the difference is noticeable.

Good quality There seems to be an improved separation of reds as a result. This filter can be used in place of standard UV filters as a protective measure.
Cutting light pollution with this method is very effective. This doesn't work against LED lights though, since there isn't a filter capable of that with this type of filter. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to use astrophotography, and would purchase it again if necessary.
