Hot to the point of being a safety hazard. It's almost unbearably hot. I'm not sure if that's normal, but I bought a dual stand up charger in the meantime, and I'll probably buy another brand of these smaller "travel" chargers to see if they get as hot as this one.
It does exactly what it claims. It doesn't overheat (knock on wood), and when charging, the indicator light turns green, which is a good at-a-glance indicator. feature to look at So far, the only drawback I've encountered is that the P/D tap cables feel cheap and thin. I don't think they'd be able to handle any kind of physical contact. However, if you're an indie filmmaker who can't afford the large duo/quad chargers or simply don't want to lug them around, this is a good option.
5 years. This D tap charger was great until it stopped working. I used it for about a year and a half before it stopped working. I should buy a more expensive charging unit, but this one is small and compact enough to fit in a travel bag.
I've had my batteries on this charger for eight hours and they're still not fully charged.
I only got them a few weeks ago, so I can't comment on their durability, but the build quality appears to be good, and it charged my V Mounts. For the price, that's all I have to say.
It gets a little warm, but I haven't had any problems with it overheating yet.
The charger for the battery is excellent. The only issue I have with it is that if the charging cables are left connected after the batteries have been charged, the unit begins to heat up.
The charger works, which is fantastic considering the price. It'll take some time, but it'll be worth it in the end. The only real complaint is that it's a little difficult to fully plug in. It'll work if you just put your mind to it.
