Yes, it's a total success! I'm the proud owner of a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. It also works flawlessly with iPhones (which are notoriously difficult to work with), Garmin GPS handheld devices, and power banks. I speak from personal experience, and I have yet to encounter a device that it does not work with.

It appealed to me because it included two charging ports. It was difficult to plug into a cigarette lighter socket and even more difficult to unplug. The item was returned to me.
I had hoped for something more. It will charge my GoPro Hero3 White Edition, but not while it is recording or streaming to an external monitor. I needed to buy a more powerful one from Amazon. The one I bought from Amazon will charge my camera while simultaneously streaming and recording.
While filming on a dash-mounted unit, it works perfectly to keep the GoPro charged. In case of an accident, I record with the GoPro while driving. I currently reside in Japan and work at the Yokosuka Naval Base. This allows my GoPro to film until the memory card is full without shutting down for battery reasons, thereby protecting me from the many insurance fraud experts who live in this part of Japan. I'm hoping you won't notice me uploading anything to YouTube:.

It also works well with items other than the Go Pro. This was extremely useful because it allowed me to charge my Go-Pro continuously. During a multi-day Caravan event, I was able to charge my phone, hand-held GPS, and walkie-talkie at the same time. I even loaned it to a couple of other drivers for their Go Pros because I had a USB port in my car.
