The tube must be taken out of the mount.

Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 is also compatible with this model.

Fork-mounted telescopes, such as the Celestron CPC 925, are not compatible.

Is there any padding on the inside of the bag?

Yes, it is padded all the way around with about 1/2 inch of padding.

It would have been better if the body had been strengthened. While putting Ota in the bag, collapsing is far too simple.
