With this handy bundle, customizing your Orion 12" Truss Tube Dobsonian telescope is a breeze!

The XX12 comes with a custom-designed light shroud that surrounds the truss tube and blocks stray light for improved image contrast.

Shroud made of opaque black stretch nylon that fits like a glove and fastens with elastic on both ends to improve view quality and prevent dust and dew from accumulating on mirror surfaces while in use.

Three custom cases are also included to protect the SkyQuest XX12's optical tube sections during transportation.

The cases are made of 600-denier waterproof polyester/nylon and are double stitched for added strength.

Questions & Answers

Can a Meade Lightbridge 12" be stored in this case?

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I don't think this case set would work with a LightBridge because it was designed specifically for our XX12 truss telescopes.

I'm looking for the zipper, but it doesn't seem to be there

I recently bought a new XX12G scope, as well as a set of padded cases. The cases are lovely, but I noticed that the large case has a small zippered compartment on the outside for the bottom (primary) tube. Although this is a great idea for storing small items like the hand controller and cables, I noticed that the zipper does not have a slide. So, I contacted Orion's customer service via the website's "live chat" feature, and a very helpful representative had a new set sent to me. I got my new set a few weeks later. I started by taking out the large case and inspecting the small zippered compartment on the outside. There's no zipper on that one either, much to my dismay? Orion, you have a terrible quality control record! On the other hand, I believe Orion products are excellent, and I am confident that this is a system error that can be corrected. I eagerly anticipate the arrival of my COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL case set (sooner or later): Is this a problem that others are having?.
