There is a ridge down the side where the weave turns back on itself. This would otherwise make a perfect product. In contrast to other braided sleeves, this one is not symmetrical. When you have a vehicle with a side that most people cannot see, you should adjust that ridge so that it is located on the backside or underneath of the vehicle! I like it other than that. There is a 2 percent shrinkage A diameter of one and no more than ten It loses a little bit of length as compared to comparable smoothwall tubing, but it's not severe, and it'll be easy to get used to. Other cable assemblies become a lot more stylish with this stuff, adding a touch of class and flair beyond the functionality they serve. The only thing I'd like is a glue stick The line version is here!.
Using this product to clean up the electrical coming down my risers was a great idea. I love the look and the shrink rate was great. My FXR has a few other harness issues and I plan to use this to fix them.
Thanks for posting this! Just to clear up some confusion, the diameter stated is before it has been shrunk, not the width on a flat surface. Just used it as a harness shield in my car and it worked great, nice and thick to cover chafe points. The heat gun worked better than a hair dryer to shrink the fabric. I ordered three more sizes because I was so impressed.
The engine bay wiring harness tidy up kit is a good product for tidying up harnesses. Since it is braided, it can expand a bit during installation if necessary, which can be convenient to make sure that small wire couplers are not caught.
Having found this stuff earlier would have made my life so much easier. It could be perfect if it had a little stretch to it. Really makes it so you can make wire harnesses that look good. What I found surprising was how much they shrunk.
The product does what it is intended to do. The only problem was I hadn't expected it to end up so stiff after being shrunk. My initial thought was that it would feel more like fabric, which would be ideal.
The process of getting smooth is difficult. The process works well, but it is difficult to get the shrinking uniform. Has a high level of heat tolerance. As a result of it being flat in the beginning, it ends up having ridges in the places where the creases are.
The shrink wrap I tried did not work for me, so I will stick to the regular heat shrink wrap.
