To stop it from sliding, you must tighten the plastic screwlike knob beneath it.
It's about the same value as a half-dollar.
I was having trouble getting the ball into the socket as well. There were no instructions, only annoyance. I put it back in the bag and returned it.

This was a complete disaster. When I first opened the box, I was ecstatic to put it in my new car. My dash was clean. I let it dry for a while. I removed the tape from the dash's mount. I put on the mount first, then the extension piece, and as soon as I put my phone in the holder, it all fell apart. I attempted to reposition it on my dash board and try once more. The adhesive was not adhering properly. This was a poor product. What a colossal financial blunder!.
I'm currently using the sticky part, but only because my minivan has a large windshield that is out of reach from the driver's seat. br>br>The sticky side is incredible and has already withstood the scorching heat of summer. The mount itself is sturdy and well-balanced. It's very durable, and when compared to other brands such as TomTom and others, it comes out on top. br>br>I've had a lot of phone holders in my car. This one holds my LG V40 phablet as well as smaller phones such as the Google Pixel and iPhone. br>br>The purpose of my photos is to show how it is mounted and to give you an idea of how it looks with a medium-sized phone. I have no trouble clamping down on phones that are larger than this.
It's on my dashboard rather than my windshield, and it's held up admirably! All of my others would fly off while driving, requiring you to apply that super sticky sticker, which wouldn't always last! I don't need to use that! It can be turned in a variety of ways, including through telescopes! In addition, almost every holder I found would not accommodate phones with large cases or pop sockets. My case isn't the lightest, and it has a back-mounted pop socket! Amazingly, it's still there! When you press a small button, the arms that are holding it slowly come out! This has made me so happy! It's great for using your GPS (WAZE is my recommendation) without having to look down. I strongly advise you to purchase this one and avoid looking at any of the others! My friend saw mine and is placing an order for one right now! Simply buy this one if you're a savvy shopper.
I think this is one of the better mounting devices I've ever bought. I bought a lot of them. I dislike cup mount devices because they take up a valuable cup holder and divert my attention away from the road. Not good! I dislike vent-mounted devices because the air flow is diverted on hot summer days, but my phone remains cool! This one was ideal, and I used it during my summer vacation. Suction cup was placed on the windshield beneath my rearview mirror. The suction power was fantastic! In fact, I had a hard time removing it from the windshield. I really liked the extension arm and the fact that I could rotate my phone while holding it. I also appreciate the release button, which allows me to quickly remove my phone from the case. This is an excellent product that I strongly recommend.
It was extremely simple to set up (just stick and press). If that's what you need, you can just stick it to the dashboard instead. For the sake of illustration, Although I use an Android phone, the holder can accommodate any phone size. Because I work as a food delivery driver, I need to be able to quickly access, view, and remove my phone. For me, this phone holder in the car accomplishes this. It safely and securely holds my phone, and it's simple to adjust the holder to any height/angle so you can see your phone clearly. I can also quickly remove my phone from it with a button press. It is also very simple to charge your phone while it is still in the car holder. I've been using it on a regular basis for the past six months, and the suction is fantastic- It is still firmly fastened to the windshield. It's something I'd strongly recommend because it works well and is inexpensive.
The dashboard and windshield have a steep incline. I've tried a half-dozen over the years, some with suction and some without. My goal is to have a clear line of sight, so it has to be lower than the dash without breaking anything in the vents (which unfortunately happened). This appears to be the best solution for permanently storing my GPS. It's been in my possession since early September, and I've been putting it through its paces br>br>Things I like:br>- It has a lot of settings to choose from. That way, I can attach it to glass (for increased holding power) while keeping it under the dash for a clear line of sight.
- My GPS does not detach itself from my body. It bounces a little, but it's barely noticeable because the bottom is resting on the dash.
- It enables me to align it with the instruments in my car, making it appear as if it were an integral part of the vehicle. br>br>Things I don't like:br>- As previously stated, it bounces slightly, but I have it fully extended, so I can't really complain. Especially now that the gps hasn't dropped. When using the GPS, it's also not too distracting. br>br>So far, so good; I'll have to wait a few seasons to see how the suction cup holds up, but I'm using the tricks like boiling it and using a smidgeon of vaseline, so I'm optimistic about the future.
When mounted on a smooth, non-textured surface, the Bokilino car phone holder works well. Mounting on the front display region of the Honda Odyssey, where the plastic is smooth, provided excellent holding force. When trying to mount on a textured front dash, the adhesive tape's adhesion was insufficient. Please inspect the surface for texture; if there is none, mounting on the windshield will suffice. br>The phone clamps and knobs are both well-made and durable. br>br>Overall, I think the product is good for mounting on smooth surfaces.
