Questions & Answers

According to what I've read, some PD converters are being sold over the Internet without serial numbers, which means that they are Which of these stands out to you?

It is something like this I am looking for, but I would like it with Lithium. The following is a copy-and-paste taken from the Progressive Dynamics, Inc web site in Marshall, Michigan, The following note should be noted Inc. Progressive Dynamics. Chargers with converters are being advertised on Amazon, Yahoo, and Face Book under the name Our name is intended to give the impression that Progressive Dynamics is somehow affiliated with Progressive International, but Real Progressive International is not a converter charger retailer. It sells RV kitchen products. RV distribution companies and RV dealers are the only places where Progressive Dynamics and the real Progressive International sell RVs. If the product you believe to be a Progressive Dynamics, Inc product has been sold to you by Progressive International, I would suggest that you contact Progressive Dynamics, Inc as soon as you receive it by calling (269) 781-8112. You can call us at (800) 421-4241 to find out if your serial number is covered by Progressive Dynamics Inc. It is better to be prepared than unprepared. Be sure to verify before trusting.

What is the status of this converter when it comes to smart conversion. ?

The answer is yes. Just installed mine and it works perfectly. I got the pendant with my charger and it indicated that the charger went into boost mode for six The device then switched to standard charge mode, which was on for 30 hours before it switched to standby. For boost mode, the pendant light is solid, while in standard mode it flashes every two to three seconds, and in standby mode it flashes every five to six seconds. I was able to connect it very easily.

My 1969 27' Airstream has a 30 amp 12 volt converter. Is it possible to replace it with a 45 amp converter?

The 30 amp converter in my 1997 Wanderer lite has been replaced, so it is working well with the single battery system I have installed.

What are the advantages of replacing the Magnatek 6345 with this?

In the last few months, I replaced an original motorhome conditioner in a 1984 Tioga motorhome using this unit. As a unit, it pretty much stands alone. It gets connected to your 110 circuit box, then feeds it to this progressive unit to reduce it to 12 volts for charging the coach batteries (12 volt) and powering any other 12 volt appliances such as lights and water pumps. I believe that this is the best modern unit you can get and should be replacing any older model.

It is good that there are intelligent chargers available now
5/5

In order to replace a twenty-year-old converter, I purchased this one The year is The charger in my Class C motorhome is an old 45 watt model. I switched out my 12-volt coach batteries because my old charger wasn't working - I had no problem with the old charger, but I needed to replace the coach batteries My decision was to upgrade my charger to an intelligent charger so that I could maintain and preserve my batteries better. I bought a pair of 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batteries and decided to upgrade my charger while I was at it. Progressive Dynamics provided me with very good customer service before I purchased through Amazon. I spoke to one of their representatives and she was very helpful. The installation was easy simply remove the old unit, which took about five minutes, and put in the new one. It took a bit more time to get everything sorted out, including cable routing. You can see the pendant in the attached picture. Powered it up and checked the different settings. I found it to be just a small indicator under my kitchen sink. Several charge modes are available normal charge, storage charge, and rapid According to the voltage meter I have in my house, there are specific values for each of these modes of charging. There has yet to be any noise from the fan Currently, my batteries are pretty charged so I will plug back in when they are almost empty and hear it start up to charge themselves. So far, it appears to work well and it is very straightforward. This review will be updated if any questions arise, but I love having a charger for my new batteries that I can use on the go. The hope is that they will remain in good shape for.

That's very good
5/5

This worked as advertised on the 13th of April 2018. Located underneath the floor of the bedroom in our RV, I cannot hear the fan when it does turn on because it is mounted under the floor. It's what I use to recharge and top off my two Group 27 Deep Cycle batteries. It's a big deal for us to have 12 volts all the time when we live in our RV full time. Thankfully, this converter stays powered up when we're off. Taking on a bigger role is not always a good thing. chose this 45 amp converter instead of a 55 amp one since the genset I have only has 2,500 watts and we do not usually boondock very often. Nevertheless, when we boondock, I want a converter that can be used to properly charge the batteries in the GenSet and to work with the generator. I found that this converter worked exactly as it should, and it was able to handle the size of GenSet I had.

I am much happier with this charger and converter than with the OEM version
5/5

Flickering lights were a problem with the original converter and I was not sure how the OEM would do with battery charging.
Following reading reviews on Amazon and RV forums, I ultimately decided this was the best option for me. As usual, the reviews were impeccable! I like the fact that this unit is quieter and I no longer experience flickering lights when it is running. I can also maintain my two batteries at an optimal As a result, I kept the OEM converter so if I ever trade in my camper in the future, I will Honestly, one of the best converters and chargers around.

It works well as a way of keeping the battery charged without overcharging it
5/5

The trailer is used for hauling vintage Camaros to road races. We did some lighting work inside the trailer and outside. A total of 12v Rigid LEDs were used. I used a PD9245CV for charging the batteries when i was at home or at the races with the trailer plugged into the generator. It works well as a way of keeping the battery charged without overcharging it. Since I have been using Rigid LEDs, I have not needed to run the generator for three days even when parked for three days at an event. It will be the same 12v lighting setup for my shop and I plan to use solar in conjunction with one of these to keep my batteries full, and I have another on the shelf ready to be used in.

It took me no more than 30 minutes to replace my WFCO 35 amp converter
5/5

Since this product was so simple to install, I decided to go for the 45 amp version instead of the 35 As soon as I plugged it in, the lights were bright. The battery was charged in no time at all. During the installation, I spent no more than a few minutes. The key is to have an Allen wrench on hand to loosen the screws where the wires are attached.

The smart charge features were very helpful to me when I first installed it
5/5

The smart charge features were very helpful to me when I first installed it. In place of an old PD-model, I bought a new In my trailer, there was a manual for this model number 9040, which instructed the owner not to leave the converter on all of the time. The old model would boil the battery if left on after it had The following post describes In the first half of the charging period, once the battery/batteries are full, 9245 will reduce power to float way, I can leave the power plugged in all of the time without worrying about the batteries overcharging. My only wish for the pendant cable is that it was longer or had an RJ-45 jack Rather than plugging in directly to the pendant, the pendant is plugged into an 11 jack instead. Within the 5 foot length of the cable, there is no place for me to store the pendant in my trailer that is visible and out of the way. It would be useful to be able to see the status from outside so I can see it when I am home. There will be a need for an additional phone cord and an adapter to extend the cable.

A great converter, which keeps the voltage accurate
5/5

As advertised, it is a good product. About two days after the voltage shifted to 13, it settled at There are 35 volts in the circuit. As noted in the above paragraph, the pendant is part of the package but the cable is too short. I plugged in the battery switch close to the converter Power to the converter was off until I turned on the battery switch, so there was no chance of a spark. Id also recommend buying cheap insurance in case of an accident, etc. The Progressive Dynamics PD9245CV is installed in a Foretravel U300 and charges the house bank of 6 AGM batteries as well as the 3 engine batteries with a lighter to lighter junction box. While traveling we use solar panels, but when we are home we use a converter to maintain a steady "float" voltage. A stable voltage was not provided by other brands. There is rarely a cooling fan on, but not enough to hear or feel it.

A direct replacement for an identical unit that had been blown away by lightning
4/5

Purchased as a best price. The repair shop was twice as expensive, and to get a refurbished exchange directly from Progressive Dynamics it would have been $100 plus shipping (without the wizard), and return shipping for the old one. Despite the lightning, the original unit was working normally until just a few days ago, when it was running at over 80% load 24/7 It is reasonable to say that I would have increased the capacity had we not changed the lighting to LED two months ago, which reduced the load by over 70%. It is the excessive repair charge by Progressive Dynamics that warrants the reduced star rating. If Amazon is selling this unit for such a low price, they should fully refund their customers.
