purchased it mostly for its pivoting design, which makes it ideal as a power strip. I have found that this works nicely for my set-up. However, it is more of a curse than a blessing to be protected by it. It was not apparent until today when it was obviously overloaded, and the electric protection provided the necessary protection. After I realized that there is no way to reset it, change any internal fuse or anything of the sort, anything of the sort in this case. As a result, the device is dead. This is not a product that you should buy. An electrical surge caused my modem and router to fail after a storm went through. This is the fourth of four I have. It's all marketing, so good luck getting anything from them, even though they have an implied guarantee. Belkin support is supposed to help you, but the whole thing is totally set up so they don't have to pay. It is your responsibility to ship all your items so that they can 'inspect' them and let you know what they think they are worth. Belkin thinks my 3 year old modem and router are practically worth nothing since they work just fine, and then we are out all the postage back and forth, and we have happens if my television is fried by a storm when I don't have a surge protector? Is it necessary for me to ship my 55" TV to them so that I have surge protectors that range in age from 3 months to 1 year old. I invested over 150 dollars in these surge protectors, and they failed to perform. In order to buy new equipment, I have to shell out a lot of money.

A surge protector that does not protect against A protector for my electronics is what I purchased. However, I lost the Flat Screen TV I have, an Xbox One console and my Cable Box because this could not protect them from power surges. Those lights, by the way, are still on and they give me a false sense of protection for which it has apparently been giving me for the whole time. This is a bad product. I will never buy another Belkin product again.

Near our house, there was a lightning strike. It was plugged into this that I lost the only items I have a big screen TV, Bose soundbar, Roku, Tivo, a modem, and a Roku. Belkin, you did me no favors. Your company will not be purchasing anything from me APC units survived, as did the items I had plugged into them, including three I'll stick with a product that actually does what it says it will do from now on.

It is rare for me to leave reviews like this, but I wanted to share my experience with any current or potential buyers.
I first want to say that I am pleased with the product itself and the design. Nevertheless, lightning recently struck a light pole just 20 feet from my house and triggered a surge at my house which tripped a few breaker panels. With the surge protector, I was able to connect my TV, Home Theater receiver, Raspberry PI 2, Magic Jack, and Wireless Router. After the storm passed, I turned all the breaker back on and noticed that all of the above devices except the TV did not work after the lightning strike. The TV was the only device not affected by the lightning strike, but all of the other devices reported no power. I recently purchased the surge protector (all the lights on the surge protector worked) and have all of the documentation, so I filed through the claims As for Belkin, I was very disappointed when they returned my surge protector saying there were no signs of a surge, and they refused to compensate me for my losses (under $1000 as a side note). Pictures of their testing procedures were returned, showing that they had done basic electronics testing (voltage output from at least one outlet, no arcing was seen, they reported that the lights were on the surge protector and included a picture of it), then they denied As a result, I am left with damaged devices that were supposed to be protected by the nice looking, but apparently ineffective, case The claim from Belkin was denied due to a functional product. My personal response after this ridiculous situation is that I will no longer purchase Belkin products, but I just wanted to let other potential buyers and current owners of this product know that their claim testing process is either not comprehensive enough, OR the product is not designed well enough to be susceptible to surges. There is no surge protection in a surge protector. Repairs are still pending on the damaged electronics and even on the light pole outside.

This product won't fulfill the claim that "Equipment Plug" is guaranteed by Belkin The product comes with a lifetime warranty. Their refusal is not going to be honored. In the past few months, I have experienced three surges and my desktop computer has All the paperwork as well as the piece of trash I bought are on their way. The return was sent back with a comment that it had been checked. The computer showed no signs of an arcing problem or a failure. WELL, I'D STILL HAVE MY COMPUTER if it had. The slayings did not stop as a result of it.
