Selected User Reviews For Panamax M4315-PRO Power Conditioner/Surge Protector 15 Amp
br>It simply works, with no hums or other annoyances. br>This is a Smart Switched, Monitored, Rack Mounted PDU with Power Protection, which means it will shut off if power goes above or below the thresholds (95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95-95 134V)br>Includes volt/amp meter, outlet status and warning LEDs, long cord (10ft detachable), 9 outlets, Lan, tel, and 2cable/sat protection, and long cord (10ft detachable). br>With a Yamaha 5200 pre-amp, it's being used for home theater in the living room. amp, as well as six Crown XLS 2502 power amplifiers. br>Primary reason for purchase: The wife didn't want to turn on a bunch of amps just to watch a movie, so she asked for a solution that included using the Yamaha pre-amp's 12v trigger. amp, and it's a cinch to use. br>br>This Panamax does everything; the BLUBOLT app is a very useful monitoring tool; if you want to keep an eye on your home, this is the one to get. Simply connect a network cable and create an account to begin monitoring; the setup takes only 5 - 10 minutes. Time limit: ten minutes I believe this is comparable to watt boxes and other similar products, but it is significantly less expensive. br>For the 12V trigger, I first purchased an APC G5 rack power filter, which was reasonably priced ($120-$150). I was able to get it to work with the 12V trigger and the Yamaha pre-amp (ish at the time) with delayed start of the power banks, but I couldn't get it to work with the 12V trigger and the Yamaha pre-amp. amp, I believe I am not electrically sufficient. br>I considered other models, such as the Panamax 5400, but that unit is larger and has 11 outlets, whereas this model only has nine. The 5400 stands at about 2U in height. ish, and I needed a 1U (height) space. br>I looked at the Furman CN- The 1800S smart sequencer is about $250 more expensive and has nearly identical specs, including smart, switchable, and other features, but no voltage reading display, which is a must for me. br>Because power has been intermittent lately due to brownouts or repairs, I connected it to an APC 1500W ups and everything is working fine.
This was bought and installed by a dealer, and it was used in a closet with a variety of A/V and networking equipment, costing around $30,000 total. Except for the glorified power-tool, not a single piece of equipment in that closet has failed after six years. The Panamax M4315 is a strip of land. PRO. The failure mode is that the breaker is constantly tripped and then restarted a few seconds later, cycling indefinitely even when there is nothing plugged into the outlets. This was especially unfortunate for some of the attached equipment, such as a network storage drive, which received no assistance from Panamax. I'll inform the dealer of the situation and hope that Panamax will not be specified in future projects.
Please note that if you purchase this as an end user (or a non-certified Blue Bolt dealer), you will not be able to use the remote power control or monitor the AC usage because you will not be able to create an account on the Blue Bolt website! You must be a certified Blue Bolt Dealer! br>br>Aside from that, this is a fantastic unit, with surge protection and the ability to reboot connected devices individually, at will or on a timer (to unlock them or prevent lockups), as well as receive email notifications when certain events occur. You can also keep track of how much air conditioning you use and any events that might indicate a problem.
